The best researched is the micronized Pregnenolone 150 mg tablets made by Allergy Research Group. I get them from my doctor, but I think NEEDS may carry them also. My hormones are all messed up, and I was on Pregnenolone for a while and it really helped. Ran out a month ago, and am really seeing a difference. Time to go get some more! -- el - andrea@... Guest guest
Thanks for sharing your experiences with Pregnenolone and yes I will check to see if Needs have it. Guest guest
Adam Fields recently asked about Pregnenolone. I was wondering if anyone has or is taking it and with what effect, if any? Thanks, D.
Guest guest
Hi , I too have exhausted adrenals and have tried all sorts of things but am also super sensitive to almost everything. Have received many indorsements for Pregnenolone and it is not recommended and is dangerous for people that already have normal or high DHEA since the above converts to DHEA and more, it is called the mother hormone. My DHEA is low so am once again experimenting with it but couldn't tolerate the 25 mg so bought the 10 mg and finally last week decided to try it again and am using a pill cutter to cut the 10 mg in half and can tolerate it, do feel like it is making a difference but time will tell and would like to eventually get back to the 10 mg. Sure most of you have heard of it, if not you can do a search at www.google.com and get lots of info. Takae Care, MH
Guest guest
Be sure to chew the adrenal stuff up. And hold it in your mouth as long as you can stand and you will use it much better. Donna -----Original Message----- I went to the chiro Saturday and we did the blood pressure test suggested by someone on this list to check adrenals. BP was supposed to be taken laying down and again after getting up. If BP goes up, OK. If it goes down adrenals are involved. MY BP was 103 over 64 and after I got up I think I was dead:-)).LOL It dropped a great deal. She muscle tested some supplements for me and gave me ECO Adrenal 200 to take 3 times daily. Now I know my QXCI Test was accurate because it showed adrenals out of norm also.. What else can I do to get them functioning again properly without supplements since my body does not absorb anything anyway? Thanks Christel

Guest guest
Christel, I also have had adrenal misfunction & went to a chiro. He gave me Isocort -Dist. by Bezwecken, Beaverton, OR. I did well w/ energy on them but then he ordered a spittle test called Functional Adrenal Stress Profile from.Bio-Health Diagnostics w/ morn, noon, night & midnight corticol levels & gave me several nutrients to take each at a specific time of day: Some of these were sunlingual & different than a regular liqiud herbal tinctures & I was not happy about this or the price as I am frugal but I really trusted him & still do. Here is the schedule he gave me based on the report: 5-7 am: 10 drops licorice Breakfast: 2 Isocort DHEA 2 drops after meal Pregnenolone 4 drops after meal 10-11am: 10 drops licorice Lunch: 2 Isocort DHEA 2 drops after meal Pregnenolone 4 drops after meal 2-3pm: 10 drops licorice Dinner: DHEA 2 drops after meal Pregnenolone 4 drops after meal 4 1/2 hrs before sleep: Any mineral supplement Specific instructions: Snack between meals & before bed on small palm size portion of any nuts but peanuts & dried fruit. Retire for sleep before 10pm (help adrenals rejuvinate) My levels were: Morn 8 Noon 3 Afternoon 1.5 Midnight 0.4 Indicated levels were: High: Morn 22 Noon 7 Afternoon 6 Midnight 3 Low: Morn 12 Noon 4 Afternoon 4 Midnight 1 I hope info this helps some. Dr. Detweiler, Eureka , IL told me that unless the schedule was honored at those times that the adrenals would still not respond optimally. · ´¨)) -:¦:- . .·´¨¨)) -:- ~Jolene~ Born2BHealed@... Hi Terry, I saw yours posts on adrenal & thyroid.. In the new CFS research by the NCF, I learned that Elastase causes problems with the Thyroid and Adrenal hormones, inhibiting Elastase with something like Boswellia is a treatment. See www.ncf-net.org then click on Newletter link for the Part 1 & 2 artciles by Alan Cocchetto. I think Part 2 has the paragraph mentioning thyroid and adrenal hormones. Guest guest
My understanding has always been that licorice builds up in the body and can become toxic if you use it for more than a week at a time. I've heard it form more than one source. I manage asthma with it and sometimes use it for arrhythmia and find it helps but I'm careful not to use it too frequently. Has anyone else heard this? Guest guest
This is for persons who have normal adrenal functioning.Licorice is helpful for adrenal fatigued persons if they have low cortisol all day. If they have high cortisol at some parts of the day and low at others than it needs to be used cautiously. bw Nil re: adrenals My understanding has always been that licorice builds up in the body and can become toxic if you use it for more than a week at a time. Guest guest
I take licorice root for a month at a time with no problems. there is an Italian doc that cured his CFS with licorice root. Guest guest
Isn't it nice to be able to lower doses of other drugs. People tending to high blood pressure generally monitor thier bp a bit more closely while taking licorice root. That's part of the reason why rotating between the two is beneficial to some. Also, another 'side effect' of licorice root is its anti-viral as well as other properties. mjh Posted by: " Judith Armbruster " _jarm1948@... _ (mailto:jarm1948@...?Subject= Re:%20adrenals) _jarm1948 _ (jarm1948) Tue Jan 29, 2008 12:03 pm (PST) Licorice in true form potentiates other medicines and can also raise your blood pressure Judi **************Start the year off right.
