Guest guest
Annie, what dose of NDT are you taking and when did you last increase it? Are you sure that you are not suffering with any of the associated conditions that go along with being hypothyroid. See attached. Unless these are check through by way of a process of elimination, even if you swap natural thyroid extract for synthetic T3, it still will not work, until you find whatever you are suffering from and treat it. No amount of thyroid hormone can be fully utilised at the cellular level if you have any one of these conditions Luv - Sheila Hi, I am considering switching from NDT to T3. I started taking NDT in August 2011 and initially felt wonderful but that feeling has worn off and I'm feeling washed out again. Therefore I am considering ordering T3 and trying that instead. Any thoughts welcome, especially from people who have experience of switching from NDT to T3. Thank you in advance. Regards, Annie No virus found in this message. Guest guest
Thank you for your response Sheila, attached information very useful. I am currently taking 3 grains of NDT, I have tried increasing it to 4 grains but I experience hyper symptoms so go back to 3 grains again. I have just had my B12 injection so I'm assuming that is ok. I am wondering if i'm low on iron, I have an appointment with my GP next Monday, I will request a blood test then. My main symptoms are tiredness, irritability, feeling breathless, headaches and very achy calves. I'm finding it hard to find the momentum to act and do something about my symptoms, got to get myself in gear and sort it out. Excuse my moaning I am feeling sorry for myself today and fed up feeling horrible. Guest guest
Hello Annie Have you considered that your symptoms are coming from adrenal fatigue? Go to our FILES section thyroid treatment/files/ and on the page that opens, click on the 'ADRENAL' Folder. In there, scroll down to the 'Adrenal Questionnaire' and complete every question to see how you score. Let us know. You might wish to go straight to the folder entitled 'DISCOUNTS ON TESTS AND SUPPLEMENTS' and in that folder, open the 'Genova Diagnostics' File. From there, order the 24 hour salivary adrenal profile to see where your level of cortisol and DHEA lie at four specific times during the day' Order exactly as requested, and tell them that 'Thyroid Patient Advocacy' is your medical practitioner. The results of this saliva test will be sent direct to you and when you receive them, post the results on the forum together with the reference range for each of the times the sample was taken and we will help with their interpretation. If you are suffering with adrenal fatigue, thyroid hormone cannot be properly utilised in the cells until it has been treated. I know it is so easy to sit there and do nothing and let the world go by, but you really must make the effort to do whatever is needed to help you get back your optimal health. Believe me, at the end of the day, it will all be worth it. Luv - Sheila Thank you for your response Sheila, attached information very useful. Guest guest
hi annie, Increasing bu a whole grain when you are already taking 3 grains is quite a jump, you may do better trying a quarter of a grain- it's surprising what a small increase can do when you are getting near optimum. Sheila has it right in that vits minerals and other conditions can conspire to prevent the thyroid meds working properly. Do read the relevant forum files. Zinc and selenium are as vital as iron for thyroid function. > > > > Are you sure that you are not suffering with any of the associated > > conditions that go along with being hypothyroid.
