,

Have you thought about Natural thyroid? I seem to do fine with T3 and T4,

fine with T3 only, but I do much better with NT. It's smoother and the T3

is gentle...... I know, it sounds like I'm describing some illegal drug!!!!

I've heard this sort of description in dodgy bars......

I use Thiroyd, Thyroid S or Nature Throid....

avail, take 75mcg of lactose free T4, split across the day. But only a 5mcg of

the T3. Have tried every which way of increasing the dose but it makes me

unwell, eg bone pain, headaches, and feeling anxious. Also feel ill/ can't

function if I lower the T4. Question is should I keep taking this tiny amount

or give up the T3 altogether?

Hi Chris

I have tried to up the T4 but get crashing headaches then. I am a bit of a

strange case I am afraid.

But thanks for trying.

Hi

Never tried the natural as Dr P says there will be too much T4 in it for me,

would love to try it tho.

Suppose you never know till you give it a go!!

I know I could not take the nutri thyroid, made me feel really out of it, so Dr

P said to leave that off. That was a couple of years ago at least though. When I

was very ill. Am much improved since then.

Thanks Anyway! Luv Stephie

Have you done a complete iron panel and saliva test for cortisol?

If these are not a good levels you will have issues with natural thyroid and

just T3.

I agree with Diane - about the cortisol and iron testing.

It may also be worth having a glucose tolerance test and having insulin measured

at the same time as insulin issues can have the same consequences as low

cortisol.

Best wishes,

My iron was in the pits but after taking spa tone for over a couple of years it

is now high and also the stored ferritin. Never looked at the Glucose though.

I often have to repeat the test as a fasting blood test at the GPs when they are

checking for diabetes.

Is it a private test that would be required?

Thanks Dianne and ! For the feedback
