Hi D., Definitely start with 1 grain and see how it goes. It will feel very different to T3 only, and you might feel your body flag a bit. Effectively you are withdrawing 2/3 of your daily T3 intake, but now add T4 in. I don't know what to recommend, as I don't know anyone who has gone back from T3-only to NDT, but play it by ear. If you need a little T3 on top in the afternoons to start with, or if you feel you wanted to add another 1/2 grain even on the first or second day ,then so be it. Don't be afraid to experiment, but don't panic either. Effectively with your 30 mcg T3 you are at the equivalent of about 1 1/2 grains already and for you this is clearly an undermedication. Give your body time to adjust and hopefully all should be well. If you feel ok on just 1 grain to start with, then go up by another 1/2 grain after about a week. Please keep us all posted. I will be very interested in hearing about your experience doing the switch. Good luck and fingers crossed.
Guest guest
So I started yesterday with one grain of Thiroyd first thing and my usual 10mcg of T3 after lunch and at bedtime. The plan is to replace those doses of T3 with Thiroyd as time goes on. I was feeling fine until late afternoon, when I thought it might be interesting to check my vital signs as I was feeling very hot and a bit weak and wobbly. I'd just walked nearly two miles. My pulse rate was 87 bpm, my BP was 83/51 and my temperature was 34.7. I've had another grain of Thiroyd this morning and am again feeling really hot. I'm at work so haven't checked anything, but those figures from yesterday were scary. Does anyone have any thoughts? D I am already taking 30mcg T3 per day in 3 x 10mcg doses, so I'm not worried about that - I propose, unless anyone tells me different, to take one tablet on an empty stomach on Saturday morning and see how I get on. t can't be worse than being under-medicated on T3 anyway. > > > Definitely start with 1 grain and see how it goes.
