Guest guest
Synthetic T3 and T4 can never be as good as natural thyroid extract. NDT has T4, T3, t2, T1, calcitonin and other unspecified enzymes that we don't even know what they do, but you can bet your bottom dollar they are there for a reason. The disease status of porcine animals born, raised, and slaughtered in the USA or Canada can be accessed through the World Health Organization, Office Internationale des Epizooties (OIE) website at http://www.oie.int Here you will find that the USA and Canada are classified as being free of List 'A' porcine diseases including foot-and-mouth disease, swine cholera, swine vesicular disease, and African swine fever. This disease information can also be confirmed through United States Department of Agriculture USDA Animal Plant and Health Inspection Service (APHIS). Armour Thyroid, Erfa 'Thyroid' Nature Throid and Westhroid are made from a natural preparation of USP grade desiccated thyroid powder derived from porcine thyroid glands. The above named NDT meets all the requirements set by the USP for thyroid medications and manufacturing specifications are tightly controlled, contrary to the BTA and RCP‟s current misconceptions about desiccated thyroid. The natural porcine thyroid powders are not sterile products nor are they designed to be such. The finished lots are tested for, and meet all USP compendial requirements, including those for the absence of Salmonella and E.coli pathogens. The manufacturers also verify that the Total Aerobic Plate Count (TAPC) does not exceed 10,000 Colony Forming Units per gram (CFU/g). The entire thyroid process is performed in accordance with the FDA Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) requirements. After processing, the thyroid products are packaged, stored, and handled in a manner to prevent any cross-contamination. My own personal opinion is that even if there was a risk of cancer (and let's face it, there is a risk of cancer with whatever we eat, touch, smell, breathe), the benefits of natural thyroid extract have made my life pretty perfect, and I doubt I would be here had I stayed on levothyroxine only, so I would still take it. Luv - Sheila i knew that thyrolar was a combo of T4/T3 equal to that in armour. that is what i was wondering. do more people feel better on the natural than on the t4/t3 synthetic combo. i almost died on the synthroid. i know all that already. just wondering if synthetic t4/t3 is as good as natural. can't get an answer on that. also, are the animals hormone free from the grain they are fed. (erfa). people with a history of breast cancer would have to think about this or is it not a problem. i don't mean to be a problem, just trying to find out the best permanent medication.TO AVOID getting cancer they say to avoid animals fed with hormones. any information on this. maybe the amount is small in the medication anyways.
