Guest guest
List the medications and doses you are taking for your thyroid and other supplements you are taking too. Constipation is usually associated with hypothyroidism and diarrhoea is associated with hyperthyroidism? What other symptoms are you experiencing. CFS is a symptom of hypothyroidism. Luv - Sheila Have stomache and diarrhea for a week constantly, and at least 5 times of diarrhea everyday and I lost 10-15 pounds fast in just a few days, now the symtoms continue. I went to the E.R., they hate me so they said it is " JUST DIARRHEA " and do some routine check with blood with no sincerity to figure out what is the problem. some healthy patients in the waiting room slam me as " top liar " . and the doctor there just told me to take imodium. Is it OK to cease the diarrhea and the pain? It is one of the symptoms of CFS. No virus found in this message. Guest guest
Sheila could she have had any recent antibiotics, as I remember one that caused diarrhea in me and it went on for 3 weeks, and even to drink started off stomache pains. My Mother-in-law was also given the same antibiotic, and it affected her in that way too but not as bad as I was. It had to have been C-DIFF.If she has any children could they have bought home a virus, as there is a virus going round in this area. I don't know if this is the same in all areas, but my surgery on their screen say they will not do home visits for stomach upsets, so for a start it means a visit to the surgery where other people can end up ill if its a virus. Guest guest
FRAGRANCE_SEEN Have you had any antibiotics lately, as I remember one that caused diarrhea that went on for three weeks, and even to drink started off stomache pains. It did not start until 5 days after stopping the antibiotic, and I felt rough and very upset. My Mother-in-law had also been given the same antibiotic and it affected her too in this way, but not as bad as I had it.I would say that it was D-DIFF. If you have children they very often through mixing at school bring home bugs, and in turn they can cause their parents to be ill. It could also be a virus, as there is one in this area, so would presume that it is widespread. Too much T4 or T3 will also cause upset stomach. My surgery will not even visit patients if they have upset stomach, so in turn it means going to the surgery which in turn they do not like, as it can spread if its due to a virus. Guest guest
What you are suffering from sounds like an acute attack of diarrhoea, rather than the chronic (long-term) diarrhoea some CFS sufferers have, so I wouldn't worry about whether it indicates CFS. I would go with the doctor's suggestion of the imodium for now, and very likely it will all settle down after a few days. If your detective work doesn't show you what could have set it off, you may just have picked up a stomach bug from somewhere. Have plenty of drinks to avoid dehydration and make sure you include salt in your diet as you will have lost electrolytes. Buy some probiotics to reestablish good gut flora too. If you are still bad after a few days with imodium, go back to the doctor and tell him it hasn't worked.
