Guest guest
Hi I'm new to this site and need some advice please. I have been taking Nurti Adrenal Extra for 1 year now ( between 4 & 6 per day) on the advice of Dr Peatfield. Since Christmas I have been trialling T3 only and this seems to have put further strain on my adrenals. I have had another adrenal stress test done and the results show that my cortisol has lowered slightly from when I had it done prior to strting the NAX. Sample 1 - 3.6 (12-22) last year 12.8 Sample 2 - 9.2 (5.0-9.0) last year 2.7 Sample 3 - 4.4 (3.0-7.0) last year 3.3 Sample 4 - 0.7 (1.0-3.0) last year 1.4 Someone suggested I try escort, any suggestions? Guest guest
Your early morning level showing 3.6 is right outside the very bottom of the reference range, where at this time, cortisol should be at it's highest in the range to help you get through the days chores. Then it shoots up to just over the top of the range for the second sample. It is low for the 3rd sample and below the bottom of the range for the midnight sample. How do you feel at these particular times. Is it almost impossible for you to get out of bed when you wake in a morning? It might be an idea to ask your GP to refer you for a Synacthen test at the hospital. How long had you stopped the Nutri Adrenal Extra before you had this latest 24 hour salivary adrenal profile done? Isocort is more potent than Nutri Adrenal Extra but not as potent as Hydrocortisone. You still apparently need to take high doses of Isocort daily and I am not able to recommend changing over due to a lack of experience, but others have done this and found it works well, whereas others have found it has not helped them very much. I am sure they will come forward to give you their views about changing to Isocort. Are you taking your NAE with high doses of vitamin C (3/4000mgs daily). Siberian Ginseng, liquorice root and a good B complex? If any members know of reputable pharmacies with good prices where Isocort can be bought, I would be pleased to add them to my list of recommended pharmacies for our members please. Guest guest
Thanks for the reply Sheila, Was it your house I came to last June in West Yorkshire, when I visited Dr P? I had a ATCH test following the test last year and that came back borderline, so I don't think it's worth doing again. At the moment I'm really tired during the morning and lunch time. I'm not too bad this afternoon, but no way feeling normal. I had stopped the NAX for 10 days prior to the test, I then began to feel worse. I do take, B12, iron, folate, Vit B,C,D etc... and also take licorice and ginseng. My iron and B12 were in the lower ranges so I have been taking them for the past 6 weeks. Dr Peatfield has been sent a copy of my recent test so hopefully he will be able to shed some light on the matter. I am hoping that I will not need the isocort or HC. Thanks again Janella > > Your early morning level showing 3.6 is right outside the very bottom of the > reference range, where at this time, cortisol should be at it's highest in > the range to help you get through the days chores. Guest guest
Hello Janella, yes, it was my cottage that you came to when you saw Dr Peatfield. I would now wait until you hear back from him to see what he recommends after seeing your test results, so please do come back and let us know.
