Depends what was in the Haggis Ed - as there is a lot of

offal. I guess the thyroid gland is offal (is it???) and some people who

know farmers who butcher their own animals have saved the thyroid glands and

sold them to folk who eat them (we used to have a member of TPA who used to eat

RAW thyroid in sandwiches and it was her butcher who got her the thyroids. This

would give you T4 and T3 hormones, and if you are already taking Erfa thyroid,

this could have tipped your thyroid level over the edge and caused your

symptoms. However, this is only speculation.

Luv - Sheila

Eat some Haggis from 'realmeat' butcher for

first time two days ago and today and each time after circa half hour felt VERY

warm in the face and flushed. Any reason for this? Is this a good thing? I take

3 x 60mcg Erfa daily for Hashimotos.

Apologies to the vegetarians on the forum - but veal's thyroid would appear to be a delicacy in Argentina...  We could be frying them for breakfast! Lynne

Molleja always comes from veal and there are two cuts, one is the thyroid gland from the neck, and another rarer and larger cut is from around the heart. The best way to describe them is having the texture of a scallop, with a mild hint of offal and meat. I could go on about them more (and do regularly), but do try them. Said to be one of Diego Maradona’s favourite restaurants, El Pobre  (Arribeños 2393, Belgrano, 4780 5847), offers excellent mollejas.
