Lumbar disc lesions and neurological symptoms - associated with hypothyroid??

Hello all,

I'm a chiro and I have a patient who I'm trying to help. I'm convinced she has

some endocrine problem going on but her GPs (she's tried several now) are not

playing ball (I am going to be passing on your info to help with this matter).

She came to me for musculoskeletal symptoms which we've investigated and found

she has both a Lumbar disc lesion and a cervical disc lesion, both causing

pretty nasty symptoms and neuro signs (symptoms previously ignored as they were

put down to 'fibromyalgia').

SO, what I want to know is; can hypothyroid worsen/exacerbate these kind of

conditions? AND; Has anyone suffered from these kind of symptoms (sciatica,

P & Ns, numbness, associated with back or neck pain) that have resolved once a

previously untreated hypothyroid has been properly diagnosed and treated?????
