Guest guest
Hi Lysa Please can you advise what your friend is taking, and how much? How old is he, is he overweight or not? is it Testogel, or is it compounded testosterone cream he uses? Or Nebido or another injection? Has he had levels of estradiol checked, too? transdermal testosterone can push estradiol too high. some men seem to do better on injections, like nebido. > However, he has acknowledged recently that he can feel a difference in his health and has experienced a level of depression which to me sounds adrenal related... that utterly hollow feeling... and complete dread. I have spoken to him before about the involvement of the adrenals, and other deficiencies which may be contributing to him still battling 30 years of ill health. It seems at this point, he is thinking his adrenals may be something he has to address. I have told him about Nutri Adrenal Extra, Isocort (although I feel the new reformulation plant-based supplement is weaker than its predecessor) and HC. I would direct him to this questionnaire and ask him what fits, and take it from there. http://www.hertoghe.eu/patients/pdf/All%20hormones%20deficiencies%20tests.pdf Vitamins: http://www.hertoghe.eu/patients/pdf/All%20vitamins%20deficiency%20tests.pdf chris
Guest guest
I have a friend who has been on a low dose of Thyroxine for some time, as well as bio-identical sex hormone supplementation. When they tried raising his Thyroxine to 70mg, form 50mg, his TSH (I think) went up, there was talk of heart danger, and it was lowered again. He has always been treated as an ME patient, but has other health issues due to a childhood operation. Although he is never well, and goes through periods of being completely exhausted and catching non-stop infections, he still manages to push himself to participate in the creative world in which he thrives him. However, he has acknowledged recently that he can feel a difference in his health and has experienced a level of depression which to me sounds adrenal related... that utterly hollow feeling... and complete dread. I know Sheila, and many of you, often post a comprehensive summary of everything that needs to be addressed to do with how the adrenals can compromise uptake of thyroid meds, plus other deficiencies that need to be checked and why. I have not been able to find this in the files, so would be so grateful if someone could post it here, so I can print it off and give it to him. I have pointed him in the direction of TPA, but at the moment, he is so poorly, he feels overwhelmed by all the information. If it could be distilled for him, it would be much appreciated. I know he will join TPA once he's had a chance to read through a summary, and address the specifics. Many, many thanks in advance for your help. TPA is beyond fabulous and I thsnk the gods you are here! No virus found in this message. Guest guest
Hi Lysa, I was wondering whether it might not be easier for him to have a copy of our booklet 'Thyroid Problems: The TPA Guidebook'. Just about all the information he needs is in there and he can sit in comfort and read it at his leisure without being inundated with too much information all at once. This costs £10, which includes postage and package and even Dr Peatfield said it was the best Information Pack he had read as it contains valuable (and unique to TPA) information. If you feel this would be helpful, £10 could be sent through Paypal to info@... and I will send this out to you immediately - don't forget to give me an address. Meanwhile, you might want to copy the attached out to give him, as he needs to go through all of these by way of a process of elimination. This is the document you have been looking for.
