Guest guest
Hi all, I'd like some opinions please on my latest Adrenal Stress Profile compared to the one I had done last year. 05/07/2011 after having been on Nax and everything else plus Thiroyd I stopped the Nax 2 weeks before the test) I had the following results for the test: Sample 1 ....28 (12-22) Sample 2... 5.5 (5.0 - 9.0) Sample 3....49.1(3.0 - 7.0)(didn't fit on the chart haha) Sample 4...5.5(1.0 - 3.0) Total daily Cortisol....88.1 (21-41) Dhea: Sample 1.... 0.27(0.10 - 0.50) Sample 2..... 0.21 ( 0.10 -0.50) Dhea Cortisol ratio....0.27 (0.4 - 2.0) As you can see there was one heck of a lot of cortisol kicking around and Dr.Peatfield said that my thyroid levels were going the right way and that quote " you don't need much NAX at all " . So I weaned myself off the Nax and continued fine through the rest of last year. Had thyroid blood test 15/11/11 and was feeling fine: TSH...0.01 (0.3-4.2) FT4...13.2 (12-22) FT3...7.4 (3.1-6.8) Ferritin...101 (12-230) All my other levels are good and near the top of the range around 13/05/11 and I supplement so don't think I am low. Naturally my GP was worried about my suppressed TSH and high FT3 so I promised I would have another blood test to check my thyroid after 3 months and have made an appointment for end of this month. Now since Christmas I am beginning to get back some hypo symptoms (I have Hashimoto's) so I thought I would do another Adrenal Stress Profile. It seems to have gone the other way now except the early morning one: Sample 1 ....42.4 (12-22) Sample 2...4.2 (5.0-9.0) Sample 3...2.4(3.0-7.0) Sample 4...2.0 (1.0-2.0) Total Daily Cortisol...51.0 (21-41) Dhea Levels: sample 1...0.21 (0.10-0.50) Sample 2...0.17 (0.10-0.50) Dhea Cortisol ratio...0.37 (0.4-2.0) I am under the impression that as I sleep badly (toilet 3- 4 times at least, sweating and continuously being woken by my husband because I snore then that is the reason I have such a high cortisol first thing and the rest of the day it is a bit low now because I have adrenal fatigue. I have been on Thiroyd around 2 to 3 grains for about a year now and I have never got my pulse or temp. up. My average basal temp. is around 36 oral and it has never really changed during the past year. As I am one of the lucky ones who doesn't have terrible hypo symptoms I haven't done a lot about it except plod on with my NDT and all the supplements. I had been toying with the idea that maybe I have a RT3 problem. Would it be a good idea to get it tested by Genova when I have my blood test at end of month (the nurse said she would do it) or would it be a waste of time and money?. I was doing fine last autumn with my weight and could eat anything but since Xmas I have put on a stone. I am going to start NAX again tomorrow. Somehow I don't think I am getting T3 into my cells. What would be my best course of action apart from NAX etc? Many thanks if you've managed to get this far and can reply. I'm 70. Cheers..
