Hi

Can anyone please give me a little advice.

I've just had my blood results back for the above. The results are:

DHEA sulphate 7.2 unol/L 0.26 - 11.0

Cortisol 742 nmol/l blood taken at 9am. Ref. 171 to 536

Ferritin 273 ug/L 13 - 150. Optimum for females >27 ug/L

I've decided to have a test for Haemochromatosis as my ferritin has been high

now in three tests and appears to be increasing slowly. I don't take anything

with iron in.

I have a couple of questions. Do I wait a few weeks and redo the blood cortisol

test, or possibly do the saliva test? Is this level very high or just a bit

high? I have no idea what a very high level would be.

Could there be any connection with high ferritin and adrenals?

Btw I am hypothyroid (treatment started a few months ago but not to correct

level yet) and I have been very low in folate and vitamin d very recently which

is also being corrected.

Thanks in advance.

Jane
