Guest guest
Hi All, I was talking to a friend today who has had Hashimoto's thyroid for years. She had has a fibrous vertually non-functioning thyroid and takes 225mcg thyroxine. She is concerned that she has unpleasant feeling of pin pricks in her feet and hands and also had it on her scalp. At one time it had been all over her body. I said I would ask if anyone could throw any light on what might be the cause of this. I understand that this she feels more like tiny pin pricks than tingling as such. Her GP says this is likely to be a precursor to having diabetes although she does not have diabetes, his opinion is that it is just a matter of time due to her weight! She has battled with her weight and this is certainly not due to over eating as he implies! she has had a recent test for diabetes but the results are not back yet although as she points out, if it were caused by diabetes, wouldn't that be an end result, not a precursor to diabetes. I would be grateful for any help, thank you.
