Guest guest
Hi Tara, Welcome to the group ! My name is , and I have a two-year old daughter who is unvaccinated :-) Just like you, I started questioning vaccines when I was pregnant, and I am so glad I did. I agree with you that it gets frustrating when we read all the information on vaccines and when we realize that parents are being lied to concerning the health of their childen by the medical mafia... Let's just hope we can make more people see the truth ! > > Hello, > I am new to the group. My name is Tara . I have a one yr old. My husband I do not vaccinate. I started reading about it when I was pregnant.. The more I read. The more mad I got at the information I saw. So now it has turned into a full time thing for me. I read and read. I started a book collection. It is the only topic on my shelf. Oh and ASL. > I would like to meet other parents like me. Guest guest
Hi Tara, Welcome to the group! I could have written your post when I was pregnant with my first son in 2005... I'm so glad more and more parents are doing this very same thing and researching for themselves. Since 2005 I have learned SO MUCH from this list, the classes that our list owner gives, and reading anything and everything I can find on the subject - on both sides of the fence. I have no doubt you will learn much here, too, and even start to call many of us " friends " . Consider this a safe haven! Guest guest
The same has happened to me. could be spasms. I have had A for 23 years. I have contacted the surgeon back and have been put to a surgeon, who specialized in A. More tests then we will see which way we are going to go. I know what you mean. It has effected my work, sleep etc. contact your dr. back and take it from there. Good luck and hang in there. These constant episodes have deteriorated my quality of life, I can't go out anywhere with an arsenal of antacid meds and gallons of water. Does anyone have any suggestions for this? Many thanks! Guest guest
The person from Mayo who wrote what an esophageal spasm was, likely never had one. That may be the definition for some esophageal spasm, but certainly is not for the ones I've had. He needs to read Debbi's infamous post. Guest guest
According to Mayo Clinic a spasm is " Esophageal spasms are an uncoordinated series of muscle contractions that prevent food from traveling properly from your esophagus to your stomach " . http://mayoclinic.com/health/esophageal-spasms/DS00763 I get this type of spasms when I eat macroni type pasta, may last for several minutes. I believe it is the pasta pushing on the wall as my E is tapered. A COLD COLD Coke opens the LES, the CO2 portion and the spasm goes away. Why you want it COLD is because the CO2 does not evaporate as fast. It is a know fact that CO2 opens the LES. I believe others have a type of GERD where the acid comes up to the LES area and called a spasm, but really is NCCP. I have had this many times. rayme CA OC > > The same has happened to me. could be spasms. I have had A for 23 years. Guest guest
Maggie Can you define your type of spasm or spasms? I have defined two of what I get, maybe notan could straighten us out. rayme > > The person from Mayo who wrote what an esophageal spasm was, likely never > had one. It only addresses spasms in plural - spasms not a spasm. Also, you may not notice the problem with food. In fact, food may even help get rid of the spasm/s. A spasm is like a cramp. In general, not talking just about the esophagus, a spasm is a dysfunctional contraction of a muscle. Spasm is also specifically used to describe a constriction of a hollow organ. like an esophagus. A spasm could be a contraction of a muscle in the esophagus, just like a foot cramp is a contraction of a foot muscle. And just as a foot cramp sometime is made better by walking on it, an esophageal cramp is sometimes, not always, made better by eating. Spasms could be a " series of muscle contractions. " I don't think most people could tell the difference between one contraction or a series of contractions in their esophagi. About the only thing they might notice is the pain. I think some of the funny noises people report with achalasia are also because of spasms but not everyone reports those or feel what is causing them. There are a number of sites that discuss them. For a couple see: http://health./digestive-overview/esophageal-spasm/healthwise--ut1638sp\ ec.html http://www.ehow.com/how_4548397_identify-esophageal-spasm.html (how to tell spasm from heart attack) notan
Guest guest
why october 17th? the official deadline is 11/30...at least for seasonal flu shot. new member Hi, I am an RN in NYS, being mandated to take flu shot by Oct 17th and when it comes out swine flu shot...or be "terminated". I am already being pressured to take the flu shot most days. I am hoping to get another job before I have to take either. I was referred to this group by someone who said that there is info on here about a lawsuit. I want to get in on it. Someone I know was supposed to find a lawyer to start a class action suit, but it seems he dropped the ball. I am appalled that this is happening in America. I am appalled that the US govt is letting NYS take away our constitutional right to "be secure in one's person." I think this is the only way because if this is allowed to happen to healthcare workers (who now have less rights than jail inmates) the state will continue on and mandate it for everyone....and who knows how this will snowball into the govt making all sorts of mandates for "the good of everyone." I've been exposed to the swine flu and did not get it (I think because I lead a generally healthy lifestyle). My coworker did get it, she is fine. The patient who had it also is fine. The DOH guy admitted to us that we are guinea pigs. He also said that having the swine flu will not exempt anyone from the shots. Ridiculous based on how the immune system works. Can someone refer me to info about legal action being taken? Thanks Anne dale RN, PhD

Guest guest
Anne, I've spoken with Alan and I know he's working individually on helping some folks from NY on this issue. Guest guest
Considering it. I'm not sure how that will go...my contact about 3 hours away offered me a job on her unit anytime, but I don't know if there are openings rignt now and she is also aware that I am against any vax. She doesn't usually get the vax but said that if mandated, she would. I haven't contacted her yet...and maybe they won't want to hire someone who has a high chance of quitting if their state does mandate. I am still working on just plain ... out of direct care. NYS governor was asked to not run for re-election by the democrats. Well, as far as I'm concerned he is a moron...how many votes does he think he's winning by allowing this farce to proceed? Guest guest
My little yorkie does the same thing. I have 2 little yorkies & they sleep closer to me when I feel bad. I don't know what they sense but they act different. Wanting to go with me when I go out. When I feel fine they don't seem to want to take every step I do or sleep as close to me. Odd, huh? Guest guest
That's really interesting about your dog.I agree with you about the health aspect of health insurance rather than the political aspect. From: andrea schaerf <andreaschaerf@...>Subject: new member Date: Thursday, December 17, 2009, 11:14 AM I am fairly new to this. I would like to add my two cent though about the topic that are okay to discuss. I think health insurance and how to get and keep care for whatever conditions that lead to having an ICD are very worthwhile. I dont think polital viewpoints on it are helpful. We all may not share those beliefs. We all do share wanting and needing to keep the care that allows us to function with our ICD's. In regard to the health insurance reforms, it would be wise to write or call our representatives to let them know that the care is needed. Whatever any detail other than regrdingh these issues comes up, I would not want to be rigid. One item to bring up- my dog likes to rest her head on the ICD. i think she may hear something. She seems to know when I am having arrythmias and pace. She stays alert then with her head one it. Has anyone had anything like this?
