Guest guest
I get a deep aching pain in my legs most so in bed, it's like a deep ache feeling. I am hypo low b12 & folate. Which could be causing this if any? Lele x
Guest guest
hello lele i expect the pain could be due to a variety of reasons but low b12 and low folate will stop the active thyroid hormone t3 from being used efficiently ....what are your readings for these two? do you have any recent results showing tsh, free t4 and free t3? what thyroid replacement do you take? you may be on too low a dose and/or you may not be converting the inactive prohomorone t4 to the active hormone t3. do you take any supplements? you could try taking magnesium to see if that helps your aching legs. best wishes trish > > I get a deep aching pain in my legs most so in bed, it's like a deep ache feeling. Guest guest
Thanks Trish My latest results were T4 21 (10-25) tsh 0.10 (0.30-3.30) no T3 done.. Folate was 3.2 (3.0-7-0) B12 was 239 (2.00-700) Dr said nothing about folate & b12 so I've been supplementing myself with 2x folic acid & 2x jarrows b12. My thyroid meds are 175/200 I've been on that about 6-8 wks Lele xx > > > > I get a deep aching pain in my legs most so in bed, it's like a deep ache feeling. I am hypo low b12 & folate. Guest guest
Hello Lele With such a high free T4 reading, I would bet this is because it is NOT converting into the active thyroid hormone T3. T3 is needed by every cell in your body and brain to make them function. If your muscles are not getting the T3 they need, you will get such pains. Talk to your doctor about starting a trial of T4/T3 combination to see if this helps and ask to be referred to an endocrinologist if he is not willing to do this. Many people find that once they start taking some form of T3, either synthetic or natural thyroid extract, such pains disappear. You need Folic Acid 800mcgs daily to help build up your level and you also need sublingual B12 1000mcgs twice daily. Your B12 level should be right at the top of the reference range, so yours is very low. Luv - Sheila Thanks Trish My latest results were T4 21 (10-25) tsh 0.10 (0.30-3.30) no T3 done..
