FW: My thyroid antibodies test?

You have low levels of proactin which is good - see

(keep this url handy as it is very useful to check against when you get

blood test results sent to you).

Your cortisol result looks low, but we really need to know what your

cortisol output is throughout the day, and it would be better to get a 24

hour urine test done to check this. I would ask y our GP to refer you to the

hospital to have a short synacthen test done in the hope this would give a

better picture.

However, we recommend that our members get the 124 hour salivaory adrenal

profile which tests your levels of cortisol and DHEA at 8.00a.m. 12 noon,

4.00p.m. and again ag midnight. Check our FILES SECTION

open the FOLDER entitled 'Discounts on Tests and Supplements. Open the

Genova Diagnostics File and order this from there, mention that Thyroid

Patient Advocacy is y our practitioner and you will get the TPA discount.

Once the results have been sent back to you, post them on the forum and we

will help with their interpretation.

You do not have thyroid antibodies at the moment, but you might as some

future date, especially if there are other members of your family who have a

thyroid or autoimmune disease.

I know you are a busy lady and i'm so sorry to ask you but i wondered if you

could just advice me breifly on my thyroid antibody test and if it is all

ok? I did put the q's up on the forum last week but i did'nt get any

replies. I just wanted to rule out Hashimotos.

my result reads-

thyroid antibodies <10 kIU/L (<34)

prolactin 195 mIU/L (<700)

cortisol 221 nmol/L (171-536)

Does it all look ok to you? as they were never explained to me at the time.
