Guest guest
Hi Sheila:-) Thanks for very prompt response - much appreciated. Hope I'm doing this right! I was taking Carbimazole I started on 5mcg and worked up to 20mcg ie 5mcg x 2 x twice per day. But then I noticed I was putting on weight, feeling tired, fuzzy-headed and had cold feet and hands and temp wasn't that great either. I should say here that I lost over 2 stone very quickly but now have put at least one stone back on in just about 1 month. Free T4 was 72.8 in April 2011, 48.9 in May, 56.3 in June, 73.7 in August and 29.9 in November - these are pmol/Litre and range is 9-24. TSH is <0.01 and has been for some time. In April 2011 Total T3 was 9.2 and in September 8.2 (range 0.9-2.5) I was taking Vit C, D3 and a B complex too - can't think of anything else right now. But I have stopped everything as I am going to do a thryoid profile with Genova and also Doc wants to see what's really going on. He will take blood for me next week to send off to Genova. I was also on Propanolol for speedy heart rate but that seems to have settled down. I have been thinking about the gluten thing and will ask about a check on that. I've probably missed stuff but head is a bit fuzzy:-( I've been reading a bit about copper so will see if I can get that checked too. Thanks again for your input. n 7a. Re: Hypo, Hyper and Chronic Fatigue and trying to make sense of it a Posted by: " Sheila " sheilaturner@... campaigner77 Date: Sun Mar 11, 2012 1:00 am ((PST)) Hello n Are you letting the Graves' run a natural course to see if this is self healing, or are you taking medication? If so, what are you taking and what dose, and is this working. Also what other supplements are you taking? Do you have recent thyroid function test results? Are you trying to kill of the antibodies. Going gluten free helps here because antibodies thrive on gluten, but more on that later. I have attached a paper written by Dr Peatfield and I hope this helps. Luv - Sheila Very brief summary:-) Over 20 years ago, I was told I had chronic fatigue and I have antibodies for sackie B. Health and energy levels have been very 'up and down' and, 2 years ago, I saw Dr P and found I was hypothyroid. Last year, things changed and I now have thryoid eye disease and Graves antibodies. I wonder if anyone else is in a similar situation and what they're doing about it? Thanks to anyone who responds:-) Cheers, n
