Guest guest Posted March 11, 2012 Report Share Posted March 11, 2012 Hello, Where can I find a GP in Pembrokeshire (Wales) who will prescribe a T3-T4 combination ? I moved here from overseas with my prescriptions, including a T3/T4 prescription due to my Hashimotos (30 years of taking it). He wants me to take T4 only (levothyroxine) alone which has never worked for me. I have gained 40 pounds since October, have swelling depression, lost hair, blurred vision, severe fatigue, headaches, and lack of concentration. For instance, I can no longer read a book. He has thrown up his hands at me, and says I can self-dose with the T4 only, adding an extra quarter levo pill daily if I feel I need it. Yet I know I am not a T4 converter to T3, he thinks this is rubbish. He also said that perhaps if I filled the prescription at a different pharmacy, eventually I'd come across a brand which worked better for me.. imagine hit and miss for months and months, but no joy I am sure. what a silly idea.
