I am not sure if this would be of interest, but I too have had problems with the

neck, and on riding a bike it is not easy to turn round to look at whats behind.

At one time I was given heat treatment, and that helped, but would they give me

this treatment next time NO NO NO.

Excercises on my neck, and during this session I got a chest infection. After

recuperating, came more neck excercises, and during this they must have pinched

a nerve as then they hung weights on my neck, and it also made my throat bad, so

that was enough, and I went and told my GP that they were making me worse. I

went back and told them no more.

I am glad that I did as my Nephews son had the same problem with his neck and

they managed to damage him causing his neck to press on his spinal column. They

won't operate on it, and he has to have morphine at times. I do not think

manipulating the neck is a good thing to do.

The thyroid artery also runs up the side of the neck, and may also be the cause

of migraines. All they say is that it is degenerative arthritas.

I would not have codeine, as it is constipating which in turn is a symptom of

Hypothyroidism, so you can end up making yourself worse with painkillers.

given an injection into the joint which helped eventually.

> It is interesting though as a friend with thyroid probs also had a stiff

shoulder at the same time.
