Can very low thyroid levels encourage allergies?

Hi everyone,

I am hoping that someone can help me with this query pls. Currently, I am

battling with very low thyroid hormone levels, which are pretty much

non-existant, due to a severe reaction to anaesthetic after some intensive

dental work a while back, & having to come off my thyroid meds for approx 3

months, as they were making me hyper. - Which is rather a problem in itself, as

I had a thyroidectomy over 20 years ago.

Currently, I seem to be battling with severe allergies to yeast and soya

products in particular, both bring me out in a nasty rash, and I was wondering

if anyone knew if this could be down to severely depleted thyroid levels?

Just for the record, my bloods taken in December, read as follows:-

Free T4 - 1.3 pmol/L

Free T3 - 0.4 pmol/L

TSH - Greater than 100 mu/l

Any advice much appreaicted.

Marie
