Guest guest
Hi , In your book you write about splitting the tablets to make smaller doses. The T3 may not be uniformly distributed througout the tablet. Did you find splitting the pills caused frequent problems with dosing at particular levels, as half or less of a pill for one dose might contain less or more T3 than the other parts of the pill? What I mean is that it cannot be guaranteed a part of a tablet is delivering the actual decided dose unless a whole tablet is used. A similar problem could occur with crushing, mixing and then dividing the powder from pills. I suppose the timing of the next dose is just accordingly adjusted and if the doses are relatively small, then taking part of a tablet which has a bit more T3 than the decided amount, should not be so harmful in the short-term as in the long term the doses will kind of balance out. I think I recall you mentioning beta blockers in your book as a safety precaution in case of taking too much T3. Can these be obtained without a prescription for those of us doing things privately. Dr P helps me but he cannot prescribe. I don't know whether a NHS GP would be willing to prescribe them, when they are not doing the thyroid treatment. Many thanks, Colin
