I am in need of someone to be a personal support worker for my son. I have just

lost two of my workers and am heading into summer where I will need a companion

for him for 9-12 hours daily. Any suggestions of where I should look. I have

posted ads in all the local colleges, am listed on sittercity.com, have

contacted SASED and SEASPAR but have had no response. I am in DuPage County.

No problem with the plug...as a member of the Board of Directors of the Arc of

Illinois, I completely agree with you. The Arc is our primary advocacy agency

for people with disabilities in Illinois. We should all be making our voices

heard through the Arc.

I am embarassed to admit, I did not know about the forum through Illinois Life

Span!

Is there a group, like the IPADD group, that is just for Illinois

families of children with disabilities? It would be nice for families

with younger children to network and share ideas and help with

educational situations. God knows there are thousands of families that

i am a facilitator at new horizon center in Chicago. My daghter is a college

student at UIC she is currently looking for summer work. I dont know how far you

I am located in Woodridge, IL not sure how far that is for your daughter. Let me

know if that's a workable distance.

My daughter feels it would be to far to travel, especially with the cost of gas
