What's a parent to do. (kind of long)

I got yet another phone call this evening from the group home....

My son has been having problems with the music in the dining room

being on & he keeps wanting to shut it off. He's been continuing to

hit himself in the head with his cane ( the staff DID take it away

from him)but he also tried to " throw the radio " (which I have seen

him do.

He wasn't supposed to be coming home this weekend because of behavior

like this earlier in the week & because I have to work. The staff

member that called me, is one that he doesn't get along with....She's

a yeller, bossy & I know that they " butt heads " . Lately, & I

butt heads too when he's home, but he doesn't need his cane at home,

so we don't usually have the problem of him hitting his head with it.

I've tried to get him to talk about what's wrong, but he doesn't let

me know.

So the stress I thought would be relieved with him moving out, didn't

happen. I'm stressed with him gone & stressed when he's home. He did

go from a house of 3 to a house of 16 +. He doesn't seem to have as

many problems with the staff on the opposite weekends....(one of them

is the one leaving next weekend.)

The team leader & the staff member doesn't get along with

are " buddies " . I REALLY don't even want to move him to another place,

because I can't get him into anything other than a 16 bed.

He moves back home & loses all the funding he has.
