Guest guest
Folks, Kathy and I have e-mailed about this privately. It's hard to understand what all the dynamics are because I don't know who this woman who received $499 is or what the specifics are. So we can only guess. As I read this, I think there are two possibilities. One is that the person who received the $499 check was providing non-medical transportation and it was paid to her from the individual's month allotment. in other words as part of the person's monthly budget. So it would be FROM the Home-Based Support Services program but still within the monthly budget. So this is the table I used in the Dreaming Seminar PowerPoint, the imaginary budget for the imaginary " Betsy " . In this case, the person provided transportation is budgeted to be reimbursed for up to 400 miles a month. Monthly Allotment Total $1,911.00 Personal Assistance @ $10/hr 100 $11.13 1,113.00 Service Facilitation Minimum 2 40.02 80.00 Transportation miles 400 ..37 148.00 Total Used $1,341.00 Available Funding $570.00 I think it is so confusing to talk about services in terms of their service codes. 55T is the service code for NON-MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION in the Adult Home-Based Support Services Program. 55D is the service code for PERSONAL SUPPORT, in other words, the funding that is used to pay personal support workers. BOTH ARE SUBTRACTED FROM THE MONTHLY ALLOTMENT. The only other possibility that could make sense to me was that she was reimbursed for medical transportation through her Medicaid insurance card. I am again looking to post information and inquire further on the Home Based Allotment. Months ago, I was struggling with the $500, NON MEDICAL benefit being within/over and above the Home Based total. It seems some people get it over and above and some people don't. We got into the discussion of 55T oppossed to 55D etc, etc. I would like anyone getting the mileage OVER AND ABOVE the Home Based Monthly Maximum to e mail me at: kathyb54hotmail (DOT) <mailto:kathyb54%40hotmail.com> com PLEASE. I gave up on the struggle until someone in my area just received a $499 check. I do not feel it is right for the state to be so inconsistant. the fact it comes from a different pot tells me that it should not be connected and I want to get to the bottom of it. Thank you very much! Kathy
Guest guest
The reason I am so passionate about all this is the $499 I am speaking of is NOT from the $1911 and is NOT medical transportation. These facts I know for sure and that is why I am so intent on checking it out. Guest guest
I have asked Kathy to share the name of her service facilitator so that I can understand better what the situation is. After I've had a chance to talk to her I'll get back to the group.
