Ellen Autism: The Diagnosis, Causes and Treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorders Presented by: Dr. Leventhal Tuesday, January 20, 2009 9:30 am – 11:30 am New Trier Northfield Campus* Building C – Board Room C234, North Entrance 7 Happ Road – Northfield, Illinois Autism is a complex disorder currently affecting 1 out of every 150 children. Parents and professionals are often puzzled by the mysterious nature of this disability and frustrated by information that can be both confusing and overwhelming. Dr. Leventhal will join us to discuss the latest research and findings regarding the diagnosis, etiology, and treatments of autism. Dr. Leventhal is a professor of psychiatry and the Director of the Center for Child Mental Health and Developmental Neuroscience at the Institute for Juvenile Research at University of Illinois, Chicago. Space for this program is limited and reservations will be taken for families and staff who live or work in NSSED member districts.
