My husband spoke to his self-insured company's HR department a few months

back. They say they aren't bound by the legislation, but it does lend more

weight to their company considering the additional coverage.

Subject: Illinois SB 394 - Austism Spectrum Disorders

This bill was signed into law and became effective today. What I'm

uncertain of is if this new legislation is binding on self-insured

companies. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
