Subject: " R " word documentary

Hello All,

Self-Advocates of Minnesota (SAM) has produced a documentary on one

community's response to the " R " word. " Offense Taken " is 26-

minutes,

with a shorter version available on the DVD for workshops and

classrooms. The film is being premiered this evening in Minneapolis

and will be available on DVD in early September.

For more information, please visit the website:

http://rtc.umn.edu/rtcmedia/offensetaken/index.htm

This film was produced in response to a Minneapolis theater group's

use of the " R " word last summer, but with " Tropic Thunder " the

issue

has again caught fire. I think this is an excellent tool for

engaging

community members and promoting discussion.

Please email me with any questions. Or contact Advocating Change

Together (www.selfadvocacy.org) at 651-641-0297. I hope we can get

wide and rapid distribution for this film.

Thanks,

Jerry
