the numbers frequently refered to are from Bradocks very dense

research " State of the States " it should be linkable through the

illinoislifespan.org. if not call likespan to get exact web address.

the research details with charts etc how much money each state spends on

various levels of residnetial/community/idfdd/state ops. The larger the

number of people housed the less is spent on home and community based

support. This is very readers digest, again the research is dense and I let

other people I trust boil it down for me. At any rate, when the economy

was good we were 47-48 , now we have tanked and we ar 51. I think money is

an important variable in this equation, far poorer states do a better job

than we do, so I have to believe attitude, culture and bigotry(sorry) have

more to do with our state's state of affairs than JUST money. Cindi

Diane:

Check out The State of the States in Developmental Disabilities 2008,

Braddock, Hemp, C. Rizzolo,

www.Institute.org/stateofthestates

There is also a current report by UCP (United Cerebral Palsy)...

There is no link that I could find on the Arc of Il website, however there is a

link to the State of the States Report on the Arc U.S. website (access via

www.thearcofil.org)

Then go to the " links " and then to Support for Community Living section...

It just occurred to me that it would be nice if we had a link on IPADDU.

I will try to remember to take care of it when I have the time.

Written Documentation for State Ranking for Serving

Persons with Autism

So It has been stated on this list serve many times about the ranking

of our state and therefore in relation to other states. We were like

48, then to 51 etc.

The ranking is exactly for what, and where can I get a ranking list of

all the states?

Help, anyone here have this info or know where to get it. Thanks in

advanced.
