Guest guest
Here is what is going on in Florida these days, at least for one family: " My 22 year old autistic daughter is # 12,502 on the waitlist. She will not get services until she is about 47 years old. Now, while waiting, she gets $ Zero. My husband and I are both over 60. There is no priority list. Only if the person with DD is in narrowly defined crisis ........at brink of homelessness........and then placement is through the system and who knows when/where the person comes out to the community again. " While this isn't exactly a joyful story, it does make me feel a little better about living in Illinois! Ellen
