The session will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2-3:30 P.M., ET, (earlier time of day, depending on time zone) and will be presented by the DBTAC:Great Lakes ADA Center in Chicago, IL, via speaker phone. NOTE: Because of national events occurring on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, and the fact that many federal offices and other entities will be closed on that day, we have rescheduled the January 20, 2009 session " Work at Home/Altered Work Schedules as an accommodation " for Tuesday, January 27, 2009. January 27th, 2009 » Work at Home/Altered Work Schedules as an accommodation The ADA and reasonable accommodation: does it include work at home or an obligation to provide an altered work schedule? This session will discuss these concepts as they apply to reasonable accommodation and explore what the courts are saying and how the EEOC guidance in this area is useful in determining whether or not it is “reasonable†for your organization. Speaker: Robin , Director, DBTAC-Great Lakes ADA Center Sharon Rennert, Senior Attorney Advisory, Americans With Disabilities Act Division, EEOC Time: 2-3:30 P.M. Eastern Standard Time (earlier time of day depending on your region of the country) CEU Credits: CRC,PHR/SPHR/ GPHR The cost for the session is $25 for nonprofits and $40 for other entities for each location, regardless of the number of participants at each location (multiple people can attend at one location for the same flat fee). There is no charge to participants who come to the following locations in Ohio: The Ohio State University (OSU) in Columbus, OH; Ability Center in Toledo, OH; Linking Employment, Ability & Potential (LEAP) in Cleveland, OH; and Southeastern Ohio Center for Independent Living (SOCIL) in Lancaster, OH. There may be other free locations in the US - please contact Great Lakes at www.adagreatlakes.org for those locations. Sessions are 90 minutes in length and delivered via audio conference. Participants are in a " listen-only " mode until the question and answer period. The sessions are offered real-time captioned on the Internet, and a transcript is developed and posted to the Internet following the session. In addition, a digital recording of the session is archived on the DBTAC:Great Lakes ADA Center web site at adagreatlakes.org.
