Guest guest
Have a question of something that is bugging me a little. Got yet another incident report from yesterday at the group home....the reporter was one of the staff that butts heads with my son freq. I've noticed on the last couple reports that she's written out, she lists some of the other residents as witnesses. Should that even be allowed? (I have heard that some of the other residents have been removing him away from the radio when he wants to turn it off or throw it.) I'm thinking of going in tomorrow to do a surprise visit to see how they handle getting him ready for work....I'm gonna be a mouse in the corner...with duct tape over my mouth) Liz
Guest guest
I have always been advised by friends who have children in residential settings that being a very frequent presence is very important. Guest guest
I am a very frequent visitor. Am there at least once or twice a week; usually 3. (I'm only 8 miles away, closer when I'm at work. But just wondering (out loud) if the other residents initials should even be put on his incident reports as witnesses. Guest guest
The regulation set forth by the state for CILA's, states that another individual's name may not appear in another person's file. However, agency's often use initials as it is not the full name. It often helpss in understanding/ decoding behaviors. For example if DH is constanly showing up as a witness in 's incident reports, perhaps DH is in some way involved in the antecedent to the behavior. I know that your is in a ICFDD and they are regulated by public heath and not DHS so I can not speak for sure that the regulation is the same. However, that is often the reason why other resident's initials are written in incident reports. -- Just my experence as a provider > > > I am a very frequent visitor. Guest guest
Thanks for your response. Actually the initials of several residents were noted on the last couple incident reports. I talked to the new supervisor about it today. He was supposed to ask about it at a meeting today. Hopefully I'll find out the results of that meeting later this week. The girl who wrote the report is fairly new...(think she's been there as long as my son has been...since May.) She also is young & one of at least two that he butts heads with. I did show up at the group home today about 6:30. A couple things we talked about at our last meeting didn't happen, so I had to " take my duct tape off. " Had averted another incident report.
