The organization I started, NOEWAIT (National Organization to End the

Waitlist) is now at the point of needing to incorporate and gain 501

© status with the IRS - specific (3), (4) or (6) yet to be

decided. Ihis status will help us greatly with grants, contributions

and the like.

The mission statement of NOEWAIT is:

MISSION STATEMENT FOR NOEWAIT (THE NATIONAL ORGANIZATION TO END THE

WAIT LIST THROUGH ADVOCACY, INFORMATION AND TRANSFORMATION)

BECAUSE

Across the nation, people with intellectual and developmental

disabilities wait years for services and supports and can not move

freely from state to state or community to community.

BECAUSE

There must be adequate funding for lifetime services and supports

needed by our most vulnerable family members, without gaps or delays.

BECAUSE

Funding must be available in all states, portable across and within

states and promote self-determination for the individual with the

disability, their families and legal guardians.

WE PLEDGE

To unite the efforts of families, providers, government agencies,

advocacy groups and citizens to change laws and policies across the

country and eliminate waiting lists for people with intellectual and

developmental disabilities.

We can, we will, we must end the wait - TOGETHER

We are seeking referral to an attorney with knowledge in corporate

law and applying for 501© status who would be willing to

incorporate us pro bono, as we have about $750 in the bank right now,

under our caretaker organization, the " Family Cafe, " a 501©(3) in

Florida.

We currently have 17 very active members of our organizing committee

in about 12 states. We meet monthly by teleconference, in addition

to voluminous emails. It would be from this group that we would draw

a small Board of Directors.

We additionally have almost 200 participants in almost all states.

We also have an Advisory Committee of five rather distinguished top-

notch leaders in the disability field.

If you might know of someone, or have the ability to send this email

on to listservs, etc. it would be greatly appreciated.
