Hi all:

I haven't a clue whether this would apply to Illinois residents...

If someone cares to investigate???

-- Subject: Housing Issues

One of the issues with housing being determined by waiver placements

alone is that there is a finite source of money. Many people who are

on the waiting lsits could benefit from using the USDA Rural Housing

options for housing. Those who hold a job and make a minimum of

$14,000 (approx) a year (can include both SSI and work) for one

would be eligible for mortagage funding thru the USDA Rural

Development fund. Mortgages require good credit but no down payment

and interest of 1% on 30 year mortgages. And the top amount able to

pay for a house would enable most people to buy a starter home (3 br,

2 bath.) I doubt that there is anyplace in NJ but there sure are in

NY, PA, DE.

And the great thing is that this is another funding source so far not

affected by the downturn in economy.
