Guest guest
Hi: They have to be missing us! I just realized that no one from Michigan is there. So, next year for sure, Roman, Sue, Alyssa, Uncle Dave and Auntie Jan will be back in Keyser. See everyone next year. Jan
Guest guest
> Sue, how come you didn't go this year? > Well, Dana, after we figured out how much we paid the lawyer (alot!) we decided we'd better not spend more money. Then the tv went out and we got that repaired, then the air conditioner went out and we ended up getting new furnace and air conditioner, then as I was doing dishes, I realized my feet were getting wet. We had a hole in the drain pipe. We figure that's our bad luck (coming in 3's). We're hoping we're out of the bad luck streak now. We've decided nothing will stop us next year!!!! Guest guest
Well, I <was> missing the familiar faces--until I got home to read my posts! ;o) Seemed like a smaller group, but hard to tell since there's so much space. Food was great, ladies who provided the food were very nice (one even mentioned she knew a family with an adult son with ds and wondered if she could score them an invitation for next year), lots of putting on sweatershirts and taking off sweatshirts (a bit nippy), but some sun for the die-hard swimmers. , , and definitely understand the auction process and are some pretty savvy and determined bidders. Kent's family showed their musical talents during the Karioke (sp)--Kent sang too. No rain while we were there yesterday, so I guess the skies smiled on the main event. Oh, and showed up without that guy she usually brings who sits around drinking beer and making snotty remarks--everyone appreciated that! Another successful suaree! Judi Re: Are they missing us?? Guest guest
YES,YES,YES....we missed all of you who could not attend this year!! The suaree was fun as usual. The kids have grown since last year (big duh), but it's always neat to see them year after year. Baby Hannah from last year was up and running! It was cold but it did stop raining for the picnic! My memory of past suarees is that it's always cold and wet during the weekend. Not typical for WV. I brought sweat shirts and jeans. still preferred not to wear shoes..hey, he's an authentic hillbilly anyway The high lights this year was Connie's cotton candy machine and a popcorn machine! A fire truck also showed up and the kids loved that. Karoke was a blast...laughed my butt off when Ravencroft held up a sign that said YOU SUCK when Kent's side of the family sang! Actually, I think Kent's family ended up using that sign a few times for Molly's side of the family. All in good fun, of course! Ralph from Brooklyn became a hillbilly overnight. Heard him tell " Go fetch me a beer, girl " .....lol! I think Arlene is going back to Canada with over 250.00 for the Little Yellow School..I think that is awesome! I found the perfect gift for 's aide at the auction (who brought those poems??). I've been looking for just the right gift and found it there! It was great to see Reggie, and the Shenals (oldies from the list who are currently taking a break from Upsndowns). Bob brought some pepperoni rolls (Love that man!)..but who ate the rest of them???? lol. There really is a Fred!! I'll let the others post the rest. I'm just amazed at how many people travel far to get to the hills of WV. It's so comforting sitting there, taking in the beauty, even with a little rain! Timbo had to work. He's been working 6 day weeks and 10 hour days. I knew with the weather, he could not get the 4 hours off he had requested. BUT, I still had fun without him! Hehe! Guest guest
Speaking of which, somehow I wound up with two cans of Whipped cream and you didnt leave me the rum? Dang! However I did stop by my favorate winery on the way home. Its a little shack in the middle of lancaster county, that makes fruit wines. I got home and had myself a glass of blackberry wine and fell asleep : ) How was breakfast?

My neck is still killing me. It was really cold Saturday night and we only sat out long enough to have one round of Pina Coladas. Now here is something of interest....there was another family staying at the Econolodge who had their 27 year old (and very lovely) daughter with them. They were in town for a family birthday celebration. We invited them up to Hooker Hollar, but their time was limited. Oh yea, their daughter also had DS. Has anyone heard from Carolyn lately? If so, how is ? Many people asked about Carolyn and ....and not for some of their Tennessee white lightning!

I seem to make it every other year so I'm hoping y'all are going to be there next year! Maybe Jill and Dana and I can caravan there together. Dana, did you get my phone message? Ted invited you to his 10th birthday. We are having a DJ for 2 hours so we will be dancing and partay'ing (as Ted would say) I know he misses all the fun at the suaree! I'm looking for a full report from all that went! Gail in Cleveland
