Oxidation

For a simple demonstration of acidity inhibiting oxidation: Cut an apple in

half. Dip half in lemon juice and leave the other as the control. Note how

quickly the control starts to turn brown. It turns brown due to oxidation.

The one dipped in lemon juice (acid) retains its color much longer. This

doesn't answer the why, but allows one to observe the process in action.

jim states that chlorine dioxide (MMS) destroys pathogens by

oxidation. Can someone shed some light on the entire chemical sequence

as oxidation

creates free radicals which in turn are the very cause of cancers and

aging itself. Many of us are taking as many antioxidants as possible

to minimize free radical damage to our bodies. Some important

information is missing from Jim's explanation in his book. Alan Ontario

I don't know how it works, but a number of programs use oxidation to

deal with cancer. The Budwig Program (flax oil/cottage cheese diet)

works by oxidation, and taking anti-oxidants blocks its effects. I've

seen studies where the corrective effects of EFA's on cancer by fish

oils were slowed down or stopped by taking anti-oxidants. It all makes

me wonder whether taking anti-oxidants might slow down the effect of MMS

In the original use of MMS in third world countries, I doubt people

were taking anti-oxidants.

In the Budwig Protocol, antioxidants as part of food are okay, but not

taken in larger doses as supplements.

I think this is a very interesting line of thought. It may be that in

cases where MMS is less effective, people are taking high doses of

antioxidants.

-My real concern for all of us is the remaining fact that oxidation

causes free radicals and free radicals create oxidative stress which

leads to cancer and many other degenerative diseases......

OK every one. I read on the post about people having problems with

the MMS protocol and having questions about apparent contradictions.

I say--- read the FREE book, listen to the FREE CD's they are all

very informative and address all the problems and questions and give

the answers to why certian people are having problems and what to do

about them.
