Guest guest
Hi Ava, Yes, this is an open forum style group.I do urge caution inposting sensative information here precisely because anyone and everyone can read the messages once its posted. If someone changes their mind about a post and doesnt want it in our archives the poster can remove their own message. Approval of new members doesnt really garantee anything as far as privacy and can lull people into a false sense of security.I cant possibly know thee people I would approve. It also cant keep a cunning e mail harvester from getting our emails. Thank you for offering to co moderate .As the group gets larger I will likely be needing a few co- moderators for the group. As of right now , I approve the first message a person sends to the group then they can post thereafter without my aproving their messages . I am dedicated to an open forum and beleive that the people who are smart enough to find us and be interested in the subject, can govern themselves and keep mainly on topic without my interference.I know the frustration of belonging to a group that wont allow a new member to ask a question that has been asked before.People need to be able to ask and find the answers to their questions. That is why I started the now 2500 member Coconut oil open forum group. If my belief in people proves to be incorrect I will certainly follow your advice and we can begin to moderate more carefully. Which doesn't have to be approved, I'm almost positive > of that. I own/moderate over 70 groups, and I would suggest closing > membership to all members must be approved.
