Guest guest
Growing up my nickname was beanpole. I was 125 at 5'5 " when flying for the airline as a hostess. My weight gain began with the birth of the 3rd child and has continued. My guess is that I have been hypo for at least 15 years. 3rd child is 22 now. The symptoms eased some as I began progesterone and soy for menopause 4 years ago. I also lost 20 pounds easily then. Since, it has all come back with a little more. My TSH never tested high, according to the drs. Some I even asked for a thyroid test when the weight kept building and menstrual problems began. We move every few years so I've seen several drs. I was not experiencing clinical symptoms when the meds were prescribed. I had gone in for a routine physical at 55. I also didn't question or research them, just took them like a good girl. Now I wish I were back to Nov. 15. Guest guest
i didn't get heavy until about the age of 6. I remained heavy until 13 when I lost all of my extra weight. Stayed slim in my teens and started putting on weight around the age of 20. From that point on it has been extremely difficult to shed the extra weight. I did start a low carb back in june03 that has allowed me to shed 57lbs but I still have at least that much left and although I continue to fluate i have come to a plateau. Frustrating! I'm in the process of trying to speed up my metabolism with virgin coconut oil. I've heard a lot of people with thyroid problems have had success with it. Good luck! -Dana -- curious I have been reading all of your posts, and I was just wondering how many of you that are considered overweight, have been that way for the majority of your lives? or is it something that happened when your thyroid problems were discovered? Guest guest
Hi Chriss, I had never been overweight until this disease started. I am small, 5ft2ins, and my weight used to be steady at 105 pounds until about 5 years ago. I am now 140 pounds and all the extra weight is carried around my belly. Guest guest
I'm 28 now and have had weight problems since around 21. As a child though, I always had a belly that stuck out more that what it should have for my weight. I got diagnosed about 3 years ago. ----Original Message Follows---- From: Aprilcupcake@... Guest guest
My personality changed after the infection too. It made me nastier. I have a big mouth now. Hi Salli When I was first getting sick after being treated in 1990 around 1993 I too began to get nasty ESPECIALLY with my 2 bosses at my old job. I fought with them about EVERYTHING and I was never like that. We didn't know it then but I was in the midst of getting really sick. If I were you I'd definately see an LLMD and be tested again for Lyme and coinfection. Good Luck Robyn -- [ ] curious Hello, I am just a lurker here who occasionally reads. Tonight I got to thinking about if I am still affected by the lyme I had in 1999 and 2000. Two summers in a row my internist diagnosed me with Lyme, I think only 1 of the 2 tests came back positive. Not sure if it was or Western Blot. He treated me with 8-10 weeks of Zithromax ea time. He never retested me after treatment. After treatment in 2000 I felt much better. I think I was left with side effects of the disease though, I know a lot of information has now come through that wasn't known then. I have severe depression and anxiety. My personality changed after the infection too. It made me nastier. I have a big mouth now. No matter what antidepressants they put me on it just doesn't help. I have no balance, and bump into things. I don't seem to have peripheral vision much. Sometimes I cannot be on the top floor of a shopping mall as my legs go weak I cannot ride elevators, or escalators either or the floor keeps moving when I get out of them. I lost my job due to the depression and anxiety as I was hospitalized for suicidal thoughts. Hey it was like being at a spa, what a safe, quiet healthy place a behavioral health center is. Unfortunately I cannot get unemployment as I wasn't at the job long enough. I have been in and out of jobs due to the stress and anxiety and emotional problems. I cry to much, too often. I am not sure if this is pyschological or Lyme anymore, I thought I was cured and let it go. Should I go to the Dr? Or continue with my shrink and pyschologists' ? I lived in the Pocono Mountains when I had gotten Lyme, I have moved since then into a very small town where there are no deer, thank God. Plus it matters how old the infection is ie. how long > you've had it before you begin treatment. If it's a recent infection > then the 8 weeks of anti biotic treatment may be enough. I think that if it has crossed into the brain its going to take quite a while to get it out. Abx have to be at a sufficent enough of dose to cross the BBB and then it has to hunt out the little buggers *-) This last year I have changed a lot in how i see Lyme. They have said that the tick has to engorge to get it, yet hubby got bit and he knew the instant it did ( also we know it wasnt there a few hours before) yet he got a rash. his friend got infected and within a few days of his bite started in w/the fog, they claim it should take a long time for that to happen. Guest guest
What a good friend you are to this poor lady. I think most of us have been in a similar situation, she needs to see someone as soon as possible to get the implants out, I cannot stress that enough. If you can help this lady to read some of the information on the silicone support sitesor saline support sites, she will see that she is not alone in what she is suffering, and it should help her to confirm its the implants. Please keep intouch so we can help this lady. Sue.
Guest guest
Crystal, Your patient is well overdue for a ruptured implant. When she has them removed, she need to insist that her surgeon remove the implants en bloc - if at all possible. And remove all the loose silicone possible. The surgeon should also use drains after surgery, until drainage is insignificant. The itchy skin is not ususual. . . What it is would need to be examined microscopically. Will her surgeon or primary care doctor examine the excretions? There are quite a number of things she can do to detox and to get back to feeling well after getting her implants removed. Please ask her to join us so we can answer her questions and encourage her to do what is necessary to regain her health. You can see the detox therapies we recommend by clicking on the first link at the bottom of this message. Getting really well is not quick and takes a lot of discipline. But it can be done! For starters, I would recommend that she begin eating very healthy. Organic whereever possible, no processed foods, no junk foods, no sugar, and minimum refined grains. She will need to take probiotics - acidopholis, Fungal Defense and Primal Defense, naturally fermented foods, etc. There are many books dedicated to detoxing and getting rid of systemic Candida. I'm assuming she has a Candid problem because most of us who've had implants long term do. She might get a prescription for an anti-fungal, but long term, she needs to adopt a healthy diet. She probably has fibromyalgia also. This goes with a sleep disorder that it may be necessary to take sleep medications long term to manage. Regular deep massage therapy is great for FM, but one must make sure that suspected deposits of silicone are not massaged, but removed surgically. She will need to exercise, even if it's only a few steps at a time. HUgs, Rogene
Guest guest
Hi Crystal! I was a Home Infusion Nurse for many years, great job, hope you're enjoying it. About your patient, I had/have the very same symptoms and am very scarred from the pustules. I had a skin biopsy of one of the sites and it came back " Sweet's Syndrome. " A very rare skin condition from a compromised immune system, which I believe to have started because of my implants. Anyway, I was on steroids most of last year, which has it's own bag of horrible side effects, but not sure they truly worked as the skin eruptions come and go. Don't know if I helped, but guess every little bit of info could be useful. Good luck to you in your career and good luck to your patient! Dr. Lawrence from the UK used to suggest taking LDN breaks but since the LDN conference he has changed his mind and doesn't see the need for breaks. I get my LDN at Cantrell Drug Co. in Little Rock, Arkansas~~1-877-666-5222... Wagner and Del McCarley are the pharmacists. They use Pure Naltrexone Powder. Thirty 4.5mg capsules is $45.00. They can mix LDN with these fillers Lactose, Avicel and probably Acidophilus.

Guest guest
I can only speak of our experience. We went to Cranial Technologies (DOC band). We only did this because at the time I didn't know of any other banding companies and this is who our pediatrician referred us to. CT for us was only 35-40 minutes away so not too bad. The waiting room as well as each patient room is very kid friendly. They have cute murals and toys for the kids to play with. The people at CT were very knowledgeable and I felt completely comfortable entrusting my son's head shape to them as they showed before and after pics, were able to answer my questions, explain the process, etc. Also, other moms were very positive of their experiences with CT. CT only does bands where other banding companies do other orthotics so experience may vary. You have to go with who you feel comfortable with. The most important thing is the ortho/clinician needs to know what they are doing. I would highly recommend CT. If there isn't a CT by you, you can always post where you live and hopefully other moms can give insight into locations near you. Good luck. > > what is the difference between the diifernt kind of bands and the > helmet? which is better? and why? >
