Guest guest
Bob. Are you distinguishing between ClO2 (I an unsure how that smells) and Cl2 (chlorine gas - I know that smell very well from industrial experience (and needng to wear a gas mask) and 38% muriatic {HCl} acid). Any way you would be leaving out the diluting effect we get when adding the half glass or so of water. Some stomach acid may be present in an empty stomach, but it takes food plus water to cause the production of the HCl that lowers the pH, by my understanding. Phil [ ] MMS and HCl Greets, I just did an experiment that I want to share and on which I would like some feedback. We are told that to activate MMS one uses citric acid and avoid any ascorbic acit ( Vit. C ). I placed seven drops of MMS in a cup and used three ml of dilute HCl (stomach acid). It activated instantly and the smell of ClO2 filled the room. So, the question is, why not just put the drops of MMS into water and take it on an empty stomach. It should activate in the gut and nothing would be lost. Further, the taste would be far easier to handle. Any thoughts are welcome. Guest guest
Hi Phil, The acid was dilute to about 3-4% HCl in distilled water. The drops and solution immediatly turned a yellow green color and the odor was one of clorox which is very much like the ClO2. I have some reservations obout the gas being Cl2 but am willing to be corrected. Do you have any quick ways to test it? Best and thanks, Bob > > Bob. Guest guest
Hi Bob, I presume the ClO2 you mention is the smell of activated MMS, the smell that is not nice as you drink it once it has been diluted. That is very different to Chlorine gas, which you notice most by the gas dissolving in the water on your membranes (creating HCl acid) and the bite it has. It sure has you quickly holding your breath and moving away. Clorox would be a bleach? Testing it? - I have no suggestion to offer. I have wondered about using one of the other options for activating MMS. I find the citric acid lowers my pH more that I like it to. I imagine the others are weaker acids. Have you any thoughts on this? Thanks Phil " bobprice100 " wrote Thursday, November 22, 2007 9:30 AM Subject: [ ] Re: MMS and HCl Hi Phil, The acid was dilute to about 3-4% HCl in distilled water. Guest guest
yes, one slight problem with that: chlorine gas. Jim says not to breathe it. The MMS would be creating chlorine gas in your stomach. I think Simon was the one trying it that way, or maybe someone else, who said they burp and it smells of chlorine.
