Any idea what I could pour down the sink to counter that odour from the MMS? I have not tried bleach in case there's an untoward chemical reaction to it.< Margaret- I'm really intrigued about this. Are you pouring activated MMS down your sink drains? Or are you saying that your body wastes are taking the smell into the system? Pouring bleach in your drains is not good for the septic system but won't poison you. The number one low cost low impact cure for any kind of drain problem is hot water. Depending on how old your residence is, your hot water may be 120F (newer construction) 140F from a few years back, or 160 from many years ago. 120 is not hot enough, 140 is adequate, 160 or more is best. If your tap water is not hot enough, heat some on the stove to just before boiling and pour it down the offending drains. It may take a large pot of it or several uses of a smaller pot. The next thing I'd be looking at is to see if your " p " traps under your sinks are leaking, because they are supposed to hold water and that water is supposed to stop vapors from coming back into the house. Anymore than this would turn this list into a DIY plumbing forum, so if you need more help than that just email me privately. Daddybob No virus found in this outgoing message. Guest guest
In the evening I've been brushing my teeth with MMS activated with apple cider vinegar, and this goes down the sink drain. The smell that comes up is the smell of the MMS/vinegar. I used hot water and baking soda and it took away the smell for some hours, but it returned. The sink and pipes to it are new. The holding tank outside it goes to is very very old. I also find my partner's breath is of MMS/citric acid, for he's taking 15 drops at a time, a number of times a day. When he sighs I smell the MMS/acid. I cautioned him not to get in too close in business meetings, and to have mints in his pocket! This is not an important issue at all. I am very sensitive to chemicals, and to odours, and so mentioned it briefly. This is the second day I have not taken MMS because of a headache I have, which may be from detoxing. I guess I'll take MMS again this evening, at 8 drops, and see what my headache does. Regards, Margaret Be smarter than spam. Guest guest
Get citric acid to activate it that will take away the strong vinegar scent. You will still have some chlorine smell , but after it is activated I think that should be completely done after 2 hours. At least , 2 hours is what I read the Chlorite will last in our bodies.but once you rinse it down the sink you should not smell the chlorine odor. As Bob said there is a trap that prevents sewer odors from getting uo the drains. I got my citric acisd from global light. http://www.globallight.net/ IN NC > > In the evening I've been brushing my teeth with MMS activated with apple cider vinegar, and this goes down the sink drain.
