Just a note about YL oils. I know the import lady he buys many of the eo's from, claiming they are his own, made by him. Lol He charges way more than she does, and goes about saying how wonderful his oils are over all other oils. As a matter of fact, some of the YL dealers, when appearing at shows where she was set up, would send someone over to her booth when she was lecturing to heckle her, and ask inane questions so that real questions by real customers couldn't get asked. She thinks that the YL dealers are trained to do this, because it happened to her so often. There are plenty of great oils out there. YL just has big marketing and brain washing behind them thanks to GY.

You see, the biggest question GY and YL left me with when I wanted to go elsewhere is, where the heck can I go and still get good oil?

GY, and YL, and they gave me information, and I felt their anger at being treated like frauds by YL and GY. He acts as if he has the only true and pure oils on the face of the earth that God is pleased with, and he doesn't!! Interestingly, some of them actually charged as much as YL!!! Others were as little as 1/6 the prices, but I wondered about the quality.

Oh, you misunderstand--I'm not a bit mad. I don't buy many essential oils at all. I wasn't going to say anything, but the discussion kept going on so thought I'd mention this. Few people know this about YL oils so I thought I'd pass on a bit of information. I know there are people that swear by YL oils. Which my post simply proves that there are other great eo's out there--because if his is so good, and he's buying from other dealers--then that means there are other good oils even though most YL people will tell you how extra special their oils are. ;-)

Ah, but Kathy, is it really that simple. In fact, it never really is in large part because the Aromatherapy industry is not so unlike any other wherein people are selling products. And, I have done exactly as you suggested years ago re the OIL Expo list comments below. The EO industry is largely unregulated, unsupervised re quality and fiercely competitive to boot. If one watches that forum closely enough, as I have thru the years, or any other like it wherein ventures and overtures are driven by profit, they are quick to trash competitors save the happy little group of on list referrals. I've read that, still do...and its true, many of the participants are charming. So is the waitress/waiter in any local restaurant....usually. ;)I buy my oils wholesale from an old, well established family business, a company who does not even have an internet presence. As such very few people even know of their existenance because they are

wholesale. The only high flauten technology they use is a fax machine. By comparision, before finding them, I am very satisfied with the quality, but have seen a few people "trashed" on that list who buy their oils from the same vendor I do. Not even sure they know from where that person buys their oils. The fact is that they didn't like the "person". Because of the trashing I have read I take with a grain of salt both the glowing recommendations and vile degradations of others products. I am not a vendor, nor do I sell oils. They are for my personal use only. Kathy Wenger <katmakiah@...> wrote: ...ah, but Carol Ann, the difference is simple. I am offering you a place where you can meet vendors and talk to them, check out their websites and products and prices, get to know their characters, and see how they treat other people, so you can decide if you want to do business with them. An Expo. I'm not one of the vendors. I'm not trying to get customers for myself. You see, the biggest question GY and YL left me with when I wanted to go elsewhere is, where the heck can I go and still get good oil? What a better place to start than a place where lots of oil vendors hang out and chat amongst themselves???? ;-) That's where I started, someone on the Joy List told me

about Oils and Herbs and off I went. An E-expo, LOL. I spent 2 years there list before I found a vendor I felt comfortable buying from, all the while still buying YL oils. And did I give those vendors grief! I drove them nuts with questions about purity and GY, and YL, and they gave me information, and I felt their anger at being treated like frauds by YL and GY. He acts as if he has the only true and pure oils on the face of the earth that God is pleased with, and he doesn't!! Interestingly, some of them actually charged as much as YL!!! Others were as little as 1/6 the prices, but I wondered about the quality. So I did my homework and settled on a vendor, and I'm happy. (I tried buying some oils from a former YL distributor I met on the Joy List. She was diluting big time! Possible she bought them diluted and didn't realize it.) By the way, in 2002, Aura Cacia did not have good oil or a good reputation, since, they have since cleaned up their act. I haven't tried all their oils since then, but the ones I have tried are good. I make my own Thieves. I also make many of the other blends.

I have recipes, maybe from former employees. I have made Joy, Inner Child, Dream Catcher, RC, Melrose, etc. Valor is one of my favorites, it's mostly spruce. And since I used to be a distributor for 5 years, like Kami is, and I guess you are, Carol Ann and Sharon, I bought the entire Feelings Kit, twice, and most of the other blends, so I can compare. And I have a great nose, I could have been a Nose. (someone who makes a living smelling oils and fragrances) Tea Tree Oil is great for dispensing in the car to eliminate exhaust and filter odors. So is about any oil, if you like it. I keep a little sachet of lavender in my car. The lavender is old, but I put the sachet in the vent, and drop a few drops of oil on it, and instantly

eliminate the exhaust that snuck in. I generally keep the recirculate setting on and diffuse. One thing I have found: The more expensive the oil, the more likely it's going to be sold diluted with something. Even YL got caught doing that back in 2003. In fact, the entire Feelings Kit did not say the oils were diluted until after the vendors on that other list got after them. Then suddenly, they changed the labels and added the disclosure of carrier oils in their diluted bottles, which was most of the Feelings Kit. Although, they never did tell people just how diluted. My vendor tells his customers exactly how diluted his rose oil is. Since rose oil is one of the most expensive oils, and a drop can fragrance an entire room, it is often diluted for reasons

beyond vendor profit: Losing a drop of pure rose oil to the floor is costly at over a dollar a drop! Never buy a bottle without a drop dispenser. Kathy Regards, Carol Ann ~ The only thing that is different is how you think..http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/archivepix.html

,Because they are wholesale, I buy by the pound. They do not sell less than a pound, when they do it is only for the more expensive oils such as Rose or Jasmine, etc. Fieber <pfieber@...> wrote: Carol Would you be willing to share the name of this company? Ha ha ha!

Hi Carol Ann!

I actually dismissed most of the vendors there too! Some of them drove me up the wall, and I would never buy from them. They had too many cat fights! But I did find Butch there, and his oils are good and they are wholesale prices, he even sends out samples. I got tired of watching the rest of them bicker and throw stuff, so after I picked Butch, I put the list on no-mail. That way, I can always go there and ask a question and get the scoop, but generally, I just ask Butch.

Dianne, glad you've found him too. I like the company, it's small and sweet and they don't have airs over there. I also bought a couple of the bathrobes, and they are sweet, very warm and heavy for these cold Utah winters when we wish to go outside to the hot tub. brrrrr

Carol Ann, glad you found a good source too! If they want more customers, perhaps you can share the information.
