Guest guest
I have been reading all the posts about cysts and am wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to get cysts in the lower back? Annie has several round lumps in her lower back, they hurt and tend to change size somewhat from day to day. I found the first one about six months ago and now there are 3 or 4. One other question, she has been having this wierd symptom, wakes up with a strange feeling in the middle of her chest. This spreads throughout her body and then she starts jerking. Can last up to 6 hrs. at a time. Says the feeling is so awful that she is afraid to be left alone because she wants to make it stop however she can!!!! She is very desparate. Guest guest
I don't understand the cyst thing. If a person is getting cysts when they take abx what does that mean? How about cysts when they are not taking abx? thank you Lea << Nelly, Thanks for explaining that. I do realize the cysts are the main problem. When I wrote that I had like a light bulb idea, then lost its essence as I was typing it. I think I had a good point and was hoping someone would realize what I was saying and say it better. But for the life of me can't even remember what I was thinking. I'm going to try not to post when I'm extremely tired, unless someone asks for certain information that I have saved, (that hasn't been written by me). Thanks for your good explanation, I think I get it. Vick >>
Guest guest
Correct me if I wrong.........but I think the cysts are the sphirochetes encapsulating themselves to survive the antibiotic treatment.......bacteria is so devilish! They haven't really found an antibiotic that will penetrate these cysts.....so what we are waiting for right now.....and I understand they are researching it.......is finding a drug that will attach itself to the cysts and drag them out of the body......lets hope we all get to see that drug soon........I have no idea where they are in their research or who is doing this research....I'm just relaying information given to me by my Dr. I think thats why so many of us are being switched from abx to abx, to greater and greater doses, and to combintiions of abx, Drs keep searching and trying different and new abx hoping it will penetrate these cysts. What I believe happens, is we feel better after abx, because the unencapsulated one(is there such a word) are killed off leaving those few cysts. Once they multiply and (keeping that cycle going), when they have saturated us again, our symptoms return. Pray they find a drug that will either penetrate these cysts or be able to attach to them and take them out of the body........I back this with no research I have read, only what my Dr. has read........Connie nwnj BTW I have been on Doryx for a week now, and feel very good today. Also had my Hydrogen Peroxide Drip, Vitamin Drip, and B12 shot. I walked for about an hour with the dogs today after work. Could it be, the plan I'm following is helping? Or am I in the good part of the cycle?? Time will only tell.
Guest guest
Connie, I'm going to take a stab at this, but may not say it right. My husband read about it and told me. Basically, there is an abx that attacks the cysts, Flagyl. But what it does is to destroy the cluster of the cyst, and its needs to cluster to form a full cyst, which then can turn back in to the motile spirochete form. That's why I think Flagyl is a good choice, but why another abx is also good. So Flagyl can destroy the cyst (breaking it apart) and the other abx can take care of the rest. But I keep reading conflicting reports on Flagyl, some believe it can kill both forms, others don't. What else is new with Lyme, uh? I say, better safe then sorry. I think your term unencapsulated form, is what is referred to as the motile form. (not positive). But one think is for sure, if all of the cysts aren't killed then they can go hide in our tissues and blood (the lymphocytes, the very ones that are suppose to fight bacteria), and remain hidden or dormant for weeks, months, or even years. And it only takes one, to come back and start this terrible process all over again. Another thing on Flagyl, I've read somewhere (I think a Norwegian study) that it can penetrate the brain barrier, no other abx can. And that's good, because I also read, that Bb can enter the brain within something like 48 hours. Amazing that our own brain won't even let in our own White Blood cells, yet Bb can get in. Because its smart, and the way I look at it, it hitches a ride somehow on something that is allowed to get into the brain (maybe a nerve), just my opinion. hope this helps (I tried), there is so much to learn about this disease and to me it is a very fascinating bacteria, but I hate that its in me and all of us. I should think more doctors would be as fascinated and research to figure it out. I know there are a few, thank goodness! Guest guest
Nelly, The bacteria turns into its cyst form when being attacked by antibiotics or the bodies antibodies, its a defense mechanism (this bugger is a survivalist). I look at it like a war. As soon as you blast them, they go hide and regroup. When they think the coast is clear, they come back out and go back into their motile form. That's just my take on it. Guest guest
Connie, I took this blurb from Dr. Fallons' 1994 article about Neurology and Lyme. My comment about Bb getting into the brain, maybe via a nerve, was wrong, this explains how it does that, through Cerebral Spinal fluid..... In case you haven't read this, I'm sending along the link. Vicki http://www.lymenet.de/LITERATUR/microbiology.htm " B. burgdorferi is known to be neurotropic, leaving the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) to adhere to glial cells or other brain tissue (75). Once in the CNS, B. burgdorferi, like Treponema pallidum, may remain latent, only to cause illness months later " >Part of my comment: " Bb can enter the brain within something like 48 hours. Guest guest
Nelly, So Sorry you are absolutely right. Sorry, please attribute to Lyme brain. Guest guest
INH, the old drug of choice for TB, is one of the best ABXs for bacteria that like to hide in the cell wall. It was given for 1 whole year. I took it for a year in 1976 when I was thought to have TB. My doctor in CA suspects that positive skin test for TB was actually a false positive. He thinks it was actually Bb [Lyme] making the test positive. I felt better after I took it for 1 year. Then about 7 years later symptoms began to return. Or maybe I was re-exposed? Who knows? Guest guest
Thanks Vicki, If only we could only find the abx that would kill it in all its forms and disguises!!!! Guest guest
I had a small cyst on my bikini line. I got some small , sharp, pointed scissors, needles and tweezers and did surgery and removed it. Made sure everything was sterile. Used a steristrip to close it. It wasn't very big, maybe just under 1/8 inch. The incision was about 3/16 inch. I got another sebaceous cyst on my lower lid, that was hell to get out. The eyelids are very sensitive. It was only about 1/32 inch. Made me cry..... But I got it!
Guest guest
My, you are a trooper!!! I "let" my wife cut things out of me but not to the point of actual incisions. Guest guest
Last night I went on line for home remedies and found one. You take a wet teabag and a heating pad and put the teabag on the cyst cover with the heating pad (I used a washcloth over the teabag) and leave on for an hour. This morning the cyst was draining and I can sit again. I'm so happy. The cyst grew to an inch in length in a matter of 48 hours. The women who wrote this remedy said her doctor told her that her body didn't have what it took to get rid of stuff and that was why she got cysts all the time. This makes sense to me because I have an inability to filter toxins. I am up to 13 drops twice a day with no ill effects. Today I will go up to 14 drops. Guest guest
Sharon, I have had the same problem a couple of times in the past. I use the black salve called " Ickthamol " (sp) to draw out the cyst and it has worked quickly. I got it from the pharmacy. Diane

If not tender then I'm wrong guessing. Sore a. tendons can indicate cholesterol or fatty deposits problems as are skin tags on eyelids. Guest guest
My brother in law had a huge one on his temple, a sebaceous cyst, about an inch across. He surgically removed it himself.
