I fully expected that, given the belief systems of Maggie and her parents, her treatment would be chemotherapy. But what we all discovered, however, during the trek from oncologist to oncologist, and from digging and digging under what the oncologists were saying, was that the type of cancer she has, malignant fibrous histiocytoma, at the stage she has it, has NEVER been successfully treated by chemo. Yet, all the oncologists wanted to do it. At the high doses they would have used, that would have meant not only hair loss and nausea, but sores in the mouth, even more weakness, vulnerablilty to infection. We finally met a oncologist, a woman, who was willing to look Maggie in the eye and say, " If it were me, I wouldn't chemo. " Meanwhile I was researching, and finally ended up talking to a Dr. Wong in Hong Kong, who has a treatment which he claims is extraordinarily effective. My cancer treatment mentor, Gammill, called Dr. Wong himself, and also had a friend who lives in Hong Kong investigate. finally concluded that he liked the treatment very much. Exactly 12 days ago Maggie began the treatment, which consists of a number of pills a day. There have been subtle signs of change, but very subtle. She continues to lose weight; she continues to weaken. had another client who started the antineon treatment at about the same time. His tumor has gone down 1/3, and he is in less pain. But Maggie's cancer is a very rare and very deadly one, in a very advanced stage. Can we keep her alive long enough for the treatment to have a chance to work? Right now most food comes back up, in spite of trying several antinausea medications. (And, yes, have tried a number of suggestions you all have given me.) The next few weeks will, I believe, tell the story. So, please...those of you who pray -- send your prayers? Those of you who do Reiki, energy work, visualization -- send your energy? Those of you who simply feel compassion -- we could use that too. If you would like to email Maggie directly, just send the messages to me. Peace, health and hope, Vilik ------------------------------------------------------------------------
