Last year Explore Magazine, a medical Journal out in Seattle, WA published an article that was strictly on our company and product, Sweet Wheat. We make a freeze dried certified organic & kosher wheat grass juice powder. It is 47% protein & 26% mineral and very palatable. Our website address is www.sweetwheat.com. I normally would not post such a message on a Bulletin board however about 5% of our customers are cancer patients. We have several healthcare professionals using our product and not because we pay them to, but because it works and they promote us without our advertising dollars. Guest guest
I understand that wheatgrass is only beneficial when fresh cut and juiced and drank immediately. Ann Wigmore was against frozen wheatgrass. The best way for people to utilise it is to grow it themselves, I can teach people how to do that because I grow wheatgrass for family, friends and cancer patients. Guest guest
Annette, If that were totally true then people would get well eating our product. You can read what other healthcare people are saying about our product in the Explore magazine article if you wish. You also misunderstood: Ours is FREEZE-DRIED not frozen. Our independent lab analysis showed that our powder retained 97% of the nutritional value of the fresh juice. For those who cannot grow their own and for those who travel it is a very convenient form of wheat grass. Also for those thousands who are never going to try it because of the difficulty in growing it or the stigma or drinking " grass " this is a way to reach those people. that is the most important thing to me: how many people can I help. We are NOT saying this replaces fresh. We also sell fresh trays and fresh cut grass in bags. They very same product we juice to make our product. We actually go beyond organic standards and are kosher as well. By survey 20% of our customers like the taste of product more than fresh. So it is very palatable. That is another thing that has stopped people from trying it. Not enough people have the time to grow it. If you were on a trip to the middle of nowhere and couldn't take fresh wheat grass, I think most people would choose our product. I totally think what you are doing is great, but the notion that it is only benefical when fresh is a false datum proven solely by the facts that our customers continue to do great on Sweet Wheat. Guest guest
Hi Our efforst are to replace freesh wheat grass. However what annette says is false because if it were the slightest bit true then no one our customers would be coming back; none of them would be feeling great and we would have been out of business in less than a year. The Explore Magazine demostrates that our brand of product helps peple sigificantly. Also Lets clear up a MIS-understood word: We are a FREEZE DRIED JUICE POWDER not a frozen juice. Our independent lab analysis showed that our powder retained 97% of the nutritional value of the fresh juice. I think growing is great and I am not here to minimize anyones efforst to help another human being. However, there are millions of others who will never even try wheat grass. We are tapping into that market as well and we are educating people who before were buying foods at Albertsons and Winn Dixie. Given a choice of no wheat grass or ours the choice would be simple. We also offer people who travel or are out of reach of fresh growing stores the convenience of taking it with them. For those interested we grow and sell fresh trays & bags of fresh cut grass. E-mail me for the prices on those. If you have the chance to get the fresh by growing yourself, GO FOR IT! But we offer a very very healthy alternative to those too busy or to those unable to grow it themselves. Guest guest
Thank you for that info. You have made alot of excellent points. It would certainly be handy when travelling. I am also interested in the difference between freezedried and frozen? I know I have a problem getting people to bother to grow it themselves, it is rather cumbersome. Guest guest
Hi Annette, You are welcome. Did you give me your address before so I could send you a copy of the Explore article? Please let me know as I have received so many requests I don't remember off the top of my head if you did. Difference between Freezed dried & frozen is the frozen is just brought to a cold tempature below 32 degrees F. It is still a liquid but in a solid state. Freeze drying takes various forms. The FLASH drying which actually takes the water out of the juice at a high tempature which damages or destroys much of the nutritional content. SPRAY drying sprays the juice onto a heated drum that then rotates and the dried and again HEATED product falls off the drum to be collected. Most of the better known companies do this. It is cheaper but the product is of a lesser quality. Some just sun dry the plant which gives you about 10 to 20 % fiber by weight and again is cheaper and HEATED. We LIPOLYZE our juice. This means that the juice is taken moments after being juiced and brought to a tempature of MINUS 40 degrees F, (which is the same in Celius, -40, the only point where the 2 different scales match). We then take all the frozen water OUT of the product and we are left with technically " frozen juice solids " or a powder which is more like a bunch of fluffy pulp then a powder. This is also known as TRUE Freeze drying. One major probelm of growing is the fungus that grows on the plant. we have also solved this problem. As I said if you really want fresh and people don't want to grow it themselves we ship our trays overnight within the New England area. We also ship FRESH cut grass in bags overnight in the New England area and as fast as we can elsewhere in the USA AND Canada. Many health food stores have juice bars, but they vary in quality. For instance they is a big supplier in NY City of fresh wheat grass trays. This guy tells everyone it is organic, but he uses Brooklyn tap water & growlights in the basement. That's not organic! Also the quality of the juicer is important. Some juicers are more expensive but can squeeze out a lot more juice! I know about trying to educate folks on the subject of growing. Most people want something easy cheap and fast. That is the culture WE have allowed to be created. Give me a pill which take responsibilty for my health so I won't have to. Thats the viewpoint most often discovered. Of course that is a generality and there are many exceptions to that reality but it is a common one. Have you gotten people to read " Rebuild your Health? " by Ann Wigmore? We promote that and sell alot of them along with Bernard Jensen's " Empty Harvest " which I consider to be a companion to Carson's classic, (yet out of print) " Silent Spring " . Those on a budget can find them all in a good library. Hope this helps. Sincerely Kurt RATH CW FL USA info@... Annette wrote: > Thank you for that info. You have made alot of excellent points. I am growing in my unheated greenhouse with heat lamps overhead to try and keep covered trays warm while growing. Guest guest
Hi Yes for all the data I need a postal mailing address. You can also visit our website for more data; www.sweetwheat.com we have an info request form there. I hope you don't feel I was caling you an ignoramus. I have been basically a vegetarian for 13 years and didn't even know about wheatgrass until 2 years ago, so everybody can always learn something new! " Rebuild your health " is different from those other books. It is by Ann Wigmore and goes over her raw foods diet. If you can't find it in the library, we sell it for $7.95 which includes the postage to send it. It is a very enlightening book and she goes over alot more than just wheatgrass. The juicers we use are of course the commercial ones, which are about $500 to $600. I don't think this is what you want but if you do let me know. I will be posting some of our resources soon so check back. Kurt RATH CW FL USA Annette wrote: > Pleae send me that info, do you need mailing address? Wow was I an > ignoramus!
