On October 31, 1999, this letter was first posted to the e-mail resources

'cures for canceregroups' and 'CMLegroups' (Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia).

www.jsr1936.com The Cure for Cancer? jsr1936@...

Since November, 1997, I have been imploring Federal Health Officials in the Washington, D.C. area to conduct a cancer clinical trial involving human beings; see the picture on the last page of www.jsr1936.com.

Thus far I have not met with any success. In fact, I have never received a definitive response from anyone.

Do the cures for cancer and chronic myelogenous leukemia exist?

Read the four postings of -

1. Could Cancer, Leukemia, HIV/AIDS, Alcohol Abuse, Lou Gehrig's Disease, and Macular Degeneration sufferers benefit from the research of ?

2. 20 years of neglect

3. 20 years of neglect and still counting

4. Clinical trials are needed NOW! Why the NIH delay? Write, call or e-mail your Congressman!

Cancer highlights -

" One compound out of 500, Thiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid, was active in the three screening steps -

1) in cell capping of immunoglobulins

2) in the differentiation of the mold Dictyostelium discoideum

3) in the restoration of contact inhibition of Hela cells in tissue culture. "

Thiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid " could represent the first non-cytotoxic anticancer agent which has the plasma membrane as target. "

With the use of Thiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid upon human beings - " Histological studies showed involution and transformation into low-grade malignancies and disappearance of evidence of cancer. "

With the use of Thiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid upon human beings - " Definite signs of activity were observed in epidermoid carcinoma of other regions and in other solid tumours, such as breast, renal, ovary, thyroid, and parotid cancer. "

Access MedLine - www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed

The first screen which will appear states:

" PubMed - NLM's search service to access the 9 million citations in MEDLINE and Pre-MEDLINE..... "

'NLM' is the National Library of Medicine.

Type 88098591 into the 'Search Box'; when the next screen appears, click onto 'Smeyers'; the following abstract will appear; the bold face emphais is mine -

" The charge distribution of anti-cancer molecules 4-thiazolidine-carboxylic acid and 2-amino-2-thiazoline hydrochloride was calculated with a CNDO/2 semiempiral quantam mechanic method. The activity seems to be related with the formation of Zn2plus and Mn2plus ions. Both molecules show local isosterism, origin of their chelating properties.

About chronic myelogenous leukemia -

Return to the first screen you saw and type into the 'Search Box' 96273151; when the next screen appears, click onto 'Samoszuk'.

An abstract will appear containing this sentence -

" .....Human acute myelogenous leukemia cells were especially sensitive to PSH plus copper..... "

PSH is D-penicillamine.

I wish to conclude by repeating this question -

Do the cures for cancer and chronic myelogenous leukemia exist?

Post Script -

I am also mailing to the above individuals a copy of 'The Lancet' article titled " TREATMENT OF CANCER BY AN INDUCER OF REVERSE TRANSFORMATION " , January 12, 1980, pages 68 to 70, which contains these passages -

" Thiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid (thioproline, 'norgamem' - A name derived from its capacity to restore normal organisation of membranes.) a compound found to act on the cell membranes of tumour cells, causing reverse transformation to normal cells was investigated in patients with advanced cancer. Responses were obtained at several dose levels mainly in epidermoid carcinoma of the head and neck with pulmonary metastases. Histological studies showed involution and transformation into low-grade malignancies and disappearance of evidence of cancer. " page 68

" No toxicity was observed and all regimens were equally well tolerated. Most patients had a feeling of well-being and there was no nausea, vomiting, myelo-depression, or central-nervous-system symptoms. No changes in pulmonary, cardiac, hepatic, or renal functions were found..... " page 69

" Thioproline seemed to be completely nontoxic over a wide range of doses, and had a considerable antitumour effect in epidermoid carcinoma of the head and neck. Definite signs of activity were observed in epidermoid carcinoma of other regions and in other solid tumours, such as breast, renal, ovary, thyroid, and parotid cancer. " page 69

" Reverse transformation seemed to affect only tumour cells, since no effect was observed in the normal skin, mucosae, or other epithelial tissues. The selective character of this action explained the absence of toxicity of thioproline treatment. " page 70
