For Danny, If the Calif. source doesnot work, go to any healthfood store in

your area and ask them to refer you to Organic co operatives or growers in

you area and who they buy produce from. Some Suggestions: One of our

biggest suppliers (Wholesale to co ops) is in Fayetteville, Ark., Orzarka

Food Co op.They also supply Health Food stores and have routes from Canada

to La, to Dallas and all around. Other co ops operate out of a big Organic

Food supplier, owned by the 7 day Adventists in Cleaburn, Texas and supply

many big health food stores in Dallas, Austin and etc. Call a 7 Day

Adventist Church in you area and ask where they buy, most all consume

Organics. Red Cross DisasterAction Team folks can get you in contact with

them too, nice folks, as they are in charge of and furnish all the Clothes

for National Disasters Worldwide (Floods, Fires, Tornados, Crashes,

Explosions & etc, they are always there, like the Red Cross who care for

citizens and Salvation army who care for disaster workers/firemen). I am an

inactive ARC DAT & ARC Nurse Cadre member right now, so donot have access to

my former city connections. Many folks belonging to LDS(Mormon)

Church/Steaks also belong to food co ops, some are and some arent organic.

Many of the big supermarkets are more and more supplying Organics, fresh

and frozen, especially Albertson's. Check with Chamber of Commerces in you

area to find out when the Farmer's Market days are, many growers sell

seasonally once or twice a month there. they can direct you to growers who

are organic. Call the Extention Agent in you area at the Farm Bureau Office

and they can direct you to Certified Organic Growers. While talking to

them, get toll free Nos. to State Agriculture Dept. and specifically those

in charge of Organic farmers and call them for listings or call the Toll

free State No.s in your phone book. Sometime just asking a grocery market

to carry them, they will. By asking and buying them, Walmart Super Stores

have carried some. I am an inactive Organic grower too. I pray some good

soul that is willing and able to farm our small acerage, and support him

or herself, will come along. I can varify it organic in excess of over 80

years and it can be certified. Hope this hasn't been too much for you.

Good luck. Liz

Danny,

I used to shop at the Cleburne, Texas store the 7th Day Adventists run

there. It is very well stocked. Those 7th Dayers have real good nutritional

practices being in the top 5 healthiest people group on earth because of

their strict adherence to God's suggestions on eating. Godspeed.

Hi, that is a nice thing to know. Currently hundreds of families and

individuals take large Ice Chests to the city where Whole Foods is and buys

a week or two supply of needed organics. They will furnish frozen bags of

Ice (disposable or reusable) to keep everything cold for a two to 6 hr.

trip. I would be interested in how expensive the mail order food is.Liz
