Guest guest
Daddybob had posted about Magnesium baths and suggested first adding plain Ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) to bathwater to neutralize the chlorine. Yesterday I went searching about this and found actual City water filtration articles mentioning the effectiveness of Vitamin C against chlorine. There's also a Vitamin C shower filter and bath tablets(!) http://www.engadget.com/2005/04/26/the-vitamin-c-shower There was a question as to how much Vit C should be used per bathtub of water. My calculations were that 1000mg ascorbic acid should be plenty to treat a regular size bathtub and neutralize the chlorine. According to the FAQ below you probably only need 500mg, but just to be safe I'd use 750-1000mg. http://www.vitacshower.com/VitabathTablets.html Vitamin C dechlorination tablets - 1000mg VitC DECL's 100 gallons of water (appx 2 tubs) http://www.vitacshower.com/FAQ.html What are VitaC de-chlorination bath tablets? VitaC bath tablets are designed to de-chlorinate any small body of water. This includes baths and spas. VitaC bath tablets fully neutralize the chlorine in your bath water. You can also Google these words for more info, _vitamin c chlorine water_ Hope that helps, > > puleeeze tell me how to MAKE my own water. what is H and O? > > how can i get my water free of chlorine. i was told just today that > there is no getting rid of the chlorine in our water here in san > diego. upon inquiry, here is the info i got today: > > in San Diego there is nothing cheap for getting rid of chlorine. Guest guest
One thing I forgot about all of this: I think that the last person who mentioned a non-gaseous form of chlorine in their water is probably talking about chloramine. I don't know enough about that and don't know if Ascorbic Acid works on it. - you may be better at researching this than me? After all, I'm just parroting what my son told me.
