Guest guest
Here is a link to a pretty thorough, but easy to follow, description of magnesium. http://www.healthy.net/asp/templates/article.asp? PageType=article & ID=2060 " Magnesium chelated with amino acids is probably the most absorbable form. Less absorbable forms include magnesium bicarbonate, magnesium oxide, and magnesium carbonate. Magnesium oxide is probably somewhat better than magnesium carbonate (dolomite). The newly available salts of magnesium aspartate or citrate, both known as mineral transporters, have a better percentage of absorption. " It also says that calcium and magnesium should be taken inbetween meals, on an empty stomach for best absorption. " The many enzyme systems that require magnesium help restore normal energy levels. Because of this function and its nerve and muscle support, magnesium may also be helpful for nervousness, anxiety, insomnia, depression, and muscle cramps. Magnesium is also given as part of a treatment for autism or hyperactivity in kids, usually along with vitamin B6. " It is a very interesting article from HealthWorld Online. . > Would like to start my daughter on magnesium and just wondering if > there is a certain form you should take it in so it is easily > absorbed. > > Thanks! > Patty
Guest guest
Hi all, where is the best place to get the transdermal magnesium? Thanks Ruth
Guest guest
This is where Daddybob said he buys from: http://naturalimport.com/shop_for_nigari?b=1 I bought the 5lb bag, but the shipping cost was $8.30. I'll try buying at a local asian market next time to avoid the shipping costs. Also if the dose per bathtub is 1 cup (8 ozs), then a 5lb bag only gives 10 baths. Hopefully the local asian market would have a comparable quality Nigari salt to the naturalimport site. Another thing I read was someone was using plain Epsom Salt for their magnesium baths. I'm not sure if this would be as good quality or give the same results as the Nigari, but Epsom is quite cheap to buy. --- In , Ruth <ruthar@...> wrote: > > Hi all, where is the best place to get the transdermal magnesium? > Thanks Ruth >
Guest guest
Ruth- Various forms of magnesium chloride and " magnesium oil " can be bought from various places. Global light sells some, Life Enthusiast sells some, many others. I've always been one to cut through all the spin to find the cheapest and most effective product for the money, purely out of economic necessity, with no malice towards any business. (I'm a small businessman myself and know well the accusations of being overpriced.) That being said, I'm very happy so far with Nigari from: http://www.naturalimport.com/shop_for_nigari There's is Japanese Nigari, not Chinese, and that distinction has become important. It is made by a very advanced ion-exchange process. The owners at Natural Import are communicating with me now to get a laboratory analysis of the product. They are apparently interested in this market. I'll report more when I get that analysis. Daddybob No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
