Guest guest
Although I have been soaking nuts before consumption for quite some time now, a thought occurred to me whilst putting another batch of almonds in water. Soaking is adviced for the reasons of unlocking the enzyme inhibitors, and thus assisting in digestion. Irradiation is done to kill enzymes and other nasties, mostly to extend shelf life. Am I on the right track here with my thinking? If irradiation becomes the rule (which I believe it is), is soaking still of use? Hanneke At 12:00 AM 27/01/2008, you wrote: THanks . I have heard of the book but never saw it. I'll order it at the library and take a look. Samala, -------Original Message------- U might want to get the book, Nourishing Traditions by Sally Fallon. It covers many health ideas and also some great recipes, which includes soaking nuts in salt water overnight. u can borrow it from the library, which i did, and then decided it was well worth the money and purchased my own copy.
