Guest guest
Someone asked this week " what are lignans " ? Here are the paragraphs from Heintzman Farms' " Dakota Flax Gold " label: " Q. What are lignans (a documented anti-cancer agent) and what do they do? " A. Lignans are steroid-like compounds found in many plants but one of the richest known source is in DFG. The benefits of lignan in the prevention of colon and breast cancers are available to all people by simply adding ground DFG in their diet. I have compared DFG to some other foods for your information to show the amazing results: To get the same amount of lignans as 1/4 cup of DFG, you would need to eat (in one sitting) a comparable serving of one of the following: [chart pictures these foods!] " Mon. 90 lbs of cabbage = 1/4 cup DFG Tues. 82 lbs. of bananas=1/4 cup DFG Wed. 75 lbs. of strawberries=1/4 cup DFG Thurs. 26 lbs. of broccoli=1/4 cup DFG Fri. 12 lbs. of wheat=1/4 cup DFG " So, that may or may not answer someone's question about lignans. The company's number is 1-800-333-5813. Remember, this is ON the product, so of course is a " positive " spin. Also be aware that I myself do not use this product, am only quoting the product, and this is not intended as medical advice. Perhaps a chemistry-oriented person or botany expert could verify [or not] this info. Joyce (H.)
