Guest guest
Hi , Yogurt may be substituted for cottage cheese but must be three times as much and must be plain yogurt. Yogurt has anly a third the protein as cottage cheese. I personally have serious doubts about MSM getting the job done. Companion Nutrients, from Nature's distributors, 1 800 624 7114 has been designed to do the job, one capsule per tablespoon of oil. We have have seen it appear to be effective. Eating a good, solid, wholegrain bread may be a help. Guest guest
, I have wondered this myself at one time, still don't know the answer....I'm not sure anyone has experimented with it either. It makes sense to me since the MSM has one of the highest sulfur contents known. But how to make it as effective (would it be? No one seems to have that answer yet) and still make it platable, is an answer I don't know. I thought that MSM, mixed with the flax oil and add the three super strains of " good bacteria " would be a good mix , then mix it with fresh juices to drink...??? Bentley, who used to be on this list (don't know where he went), is very knowledgeable in the area of nutritional healing. We even talked about this at one time, he said our discussion made him think of something he was going to look into.....but he never said what.....and since hasn't posted. You might want to address this question to him.....see if he came up with any answers as of yet....... I believe his address is jb@... is a very nice man and I'm sure he would take the time to answer you..........Let us know what his thoughts are on the matter, okay?......................................................Belinda In a message dated 05/17/2000 12:59:13 PM Central Daylight Time, mmeadows1@... writes: << I have been reading alot about using either High lignan flax oil or fresh ground flax seed with cottage cheese. Does anyone know if using the yogurt vice using the cottage cheese is just as effective? Also does anyone know if it would also work as well to substitue MSM (organic suplhur in pill form) for the cottage cheese or yogurt? I tend to get sinus infections if I eat dairy products and was wondering if I can use MSM as my source of sulphur. I dont want to just try it without knowing if it will be affective and just waste the time an money. Please, anyone who can shed some light on this let me know. Guest guest
, I do agree with on this, I would stay with what is known to work in this case, esp. if you are dealing with cancer. I just mentioned my thoughts because I've wondered the same as you before.......doesn't mean it works though! As far as I know, no one has ever tried this concept out. As far as your intolerance to dairy, in that you state it gives you sinus infections, maybe you can drink a cup of red clover tea with a little slippery elm added. The red clover will cleanse the blood and the slippery elm is great for reducing mucous and soothing inflammation. It is cheap enough to try and worth taking if it works for you, just to get the benefits of the flax oil and CC. My mom has recurrent bronchitis and just started on an " episode " on Tuesday of this week. She came home sick (I live next door) and I started her on this tea. Usually, she is sick for about 2 weeks and takes antibiotics and sometimes prednisone. Well , today is Thursday morning and I just went over to check on her. She looks and sounds great. She's feeling fine and it shows! She said she was quite surprised that it worked! For this episode, she did not get to the doctor or get on the antibiotics etc, so it was the tea. I also use this tea on my sons whenever they get a sore throat or cough. Knocks it right out, works like a charm! Maybe, it will work for you. I am not sure whether its effects have anything to do with the blood type, we're all A+ over here. If you want to try it, here is what I do: Take a small handful of red clover blossoms dried (or fresh) and add about a 1/4 - 1/2 tsp of the slippery elm powder (you don't need much). Put this in a mug and add boiling water to the cup and steep (I cover mine with a dinner plate) for 15 minutes. Strain the herbs and liquid back into the pot you boiled the water in, then pour back into your mug. If you want you can add a little honey to it to sweeten. We drink it both ways, it's not bad tasting. The honey may give you a little bit of energy as well. I pay about $1.00 an oz for the red clover (dried) and about $1.59 for the slippery elm powdered. I get these at my local health store that carries dried herbs in bulk......Let me know if it works for you, if you try it.... Guest guest
Belinda and , Thanks for the advice. I will stay with the tried and true formula and also try the Red Clover/Slippery Elm to keep the sinuses under control.
